  1. Thanks for all the help. I will look into all the suggestions in this tread.
  2. I know the Gram is a Q1 product would it be worth waiting for the 2019 refresh?
  3. Weight is kinda abstract for me I dont have a good number to quantify it just not like stupid heavy like 4 LBS At least +8 hours on battery life. I would say at least like a 13 inch. As far as screen quality I am not sure if there is a type of display that leads to easier reading of text, if so that. It does not have to be a 2 in 1 or tablet.
  4. So I am looking for a laptop for the new school semester. Budget: ~1500 USD Use Case: I will be doing graduate level accounting coursework so different office programs (mainly excel), some accounting statistics software for an data analytics class I have. I will not be gaming on this I have a desktop for that. Must haves: A nice keyboard I will be using the laptop for a good bit of typing. Good battery life my classes are 2 hours and 45 minutes it would be nice to be able to after class be able to work on a group assignment and not be stuck to an outlet. Nice to have: A touch screen or some pen functionality I still take notes by hand but it would be nice to have the mark up in one note option. A more professional look I am not trying to be talking to professors I may need a recommendation from with my super RGB gamer laptop. As of now I like the look of the surface laptop 2 (i5 8gb spec) because of the good things I have heard about the keyboard but open to suggestions. Location: NC, would like something rather light because I am hauling this with textbooks in a backpack
  5. Sorry to take so long to get back to this I am in North Carolina. Weight is not a huge issue but I do not want to carry around a brick or anything though. I will look into the current suggestions but if anyone else has something else to offer that would be awesome.
  6. Starting graduate school and looking for a laptop with 6 hours of battery life, I have a desktop so I am not worried about gaming will be mostly using things like excel, word, and maybe some accounting software(school subject). The one thing I am interested in I do not have much experience with is using a pen to take notes in something like Onenote. My budget is around 1200 but it is flexible.
  7. This is my current build. I have already RMA'ed the PSU and the motherboard is brand new and had the same issue with another mobo (Gigabyte gaming g7). I thought it was a power problem as in something with the psu or the motherboard but both have been changed. Windows 10 pro 64-bit Asus Strix z270e Gaming Bios 0906 (most up to date) Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.00GHz (stock) 2x8 GB G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series (at chip set default ) GeForce GTX 1080 Strix (Overclocked 2000 MHz boost but issues present at stock speeds) 465GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB (SSD) Boot Drive 119GB M4-CT128M4SSD2 (SSD) 931GB Western Digital WDC WD1002FAEX-00Y9A0 (SATA) EVGA Supernova 850P2 (850w 80+ PLATINUM)
  8. Would it be better if I made a post of the troubleshooting forum or would here be an ok place to ask for help with that?
  9. @legacy99 Well my issue is my system is not stable at stock . It will just restart when stress tested or when gaming. How would I go about finding that lowest stable voltage?
  10. My question has to do with the readout I am getting from HWinfo. I have a 6700k with an Asus Rog z270e motherboard. I currently and getting readouts of like 1.34 and even maxing out at 1.415 for VID on each of my cores with my vcore voltage set to 1.3 v. This is all with no overclock and I guess my question is what is the actual voltage on my processor?
  11. Well new motherboard same problem. I changed my motherboard to the Asus ROG 270e hoping that this would help my issue it did not . I have attached the Hwinfo logs that I get stress testing with prime 95 (blend and furmark) that caused the crash everything is stock. Any help would be great. new mobo.CSV @ARikozuM I hope its okay if I @ you because you where really helpful when I first posted.
  12. Well that sucks I really thought about doing it when I did my PSU and held back but thank you for your time will report back in like a week or 2 when that whole process is done thank you and everyone else in the thread for all your help
  13. I don't atm I have had enough trouble with it crashing at stock. This is the second PSU I have had in there. I RMA'ed the first one when I first started trouble shooting seeing the error 41 so I was hoping that this was not the problem. I dont have another PSU to test but I did get a PSU tester that will be here in a couple of days to see if the 12, 5, and 3.3 rails are all putting out the correct voltages. One other question this has kinda been a long list of problems that I think I solve and end up not really having solved. The initial problem I had was that the bios that came preinstalled on my Mobo was set to a super aggressive voltage by default (1.35 v) could that have damaged my processor? Then it was fallowed up by instability caused by having XMP on now this.
  14. @ARikozuM It is the same critical error I am getting every time. The other errors I am getting are distributed com errors (ID: 10010) and App (event ID 5973) errors having to do with windows store, as well as some Perfib errors (ID: 1023 and 1008). I linked a past bin to the details on the critical error. https://pastebin.com/k0mRXUaf
  15. I have a ton of errors in event viewer and am having a hard time finding a good way to fix them some things are talking about messing with registries and I am not totally comfortable with that. If it is something like a windows issue would a clean reinstall take care of it? Also I have the sinking suspicion that if it is a hardware issue it is the psu with how random it is and how it does not seem to be really easily recreated. I ordered a psu tester off amazon if the crashes keep happening after my potential reinstall.
