Just Google the partnr.'s you see on the chips and you can get a very rough idea of what kind of hardware is used on an (internal) capture card.

Overclocking is the general term.  For RAM, CPU, GPU, any pc part really.

Easy enough to hit Youtube and search for them.

    Google XMP or DOCP.

It's how a motherboard overclocks memory to the speeds that are supported by the manufacturer of the RAM (listed as RAM Speed).

the current protest is for the US. however if it passes there's a chance other countries will think it's a good thing/they can do it. and then everything goes to shit

This is misleading. Net Neutrality is a concept. The FCC recently enshrined that concept into law, but the new FCC members (Along with lobbyists that stand to financially gain from unfair treatment) are trying to push to remove the Net Neutrality protections.

Many countries already have defacto net neutrality, as protected inherently by other - non related - laws.

However, a great large number of countries (NK, China, most - if not, all - of the middle east) are anti-net neutrality, and have laws directly contravening the concept.

What about the countries that are asociated with the US?

AFAIK the US lends the internet service to other countries, it doesn't matter if the ISP of the other countries call the service their own, it's always connected to a satellite which is US property.

yaseryaser reacted to dalekphalm in Net Neutrality
I don't know what you're talking about, but a negligible amount of the global internet traffic flows through satellites at all. The accepted figure is ~95% of traffic goes through underwater sea cables.

So while a large amount of traffic will still flow through US Servers, much of global traffic doesn't even touch it.

It's certainly a bad thing that the US is attempting to abandon Net Neutrality, but satellites have pretty much nothing to do with it

Wow, one VGA input. Tbh I would invest in a new monitor rather than some sort of switch.

Why don't you just put each PC into different inputs on the monitor and then switch inputs when you need to switch PCs? I don't think the resolution would need to be calibrated because the resolution is dependent on the monitor not the PC.

    22 seconds is reasonable.

You could try disabling boot things in task manager.
I don't think it would make much of a difference though

Enable any fastboot features in the BIOS, remove any unnecessary devices plugged into the PC and disable all applications that are set to launch on startup. Clear the desktop of items too.

Or you could just put the PC into sleep mode and have a near instant "boot".

Also the board is labeled, bring out the board layout paper, and it should also tell you where to put each thing place by place. Its like an electronical puzzle, simple at least.

Its alright, but first things first to get some good clean wiring map out those cables. Where they are going, and put it through, dont use any zip ties till you are finished, that's generally for the closed side of the case and you can make it look super clean. Test if the pc power is functional also before you do the zip ties.

    1) read the manual

    2) hex screws are for the PSU

    3) 6-32 screws are for the motherboard

    4) M3 screws are for drives, hopefully you didn't ruin your standoff threads by trying to put those in.

Yes the hex headed screws are also 6-32 as labeled on the bag which is the same thread as the regular 6-32 screw flat.

    Comedy of errors:
I put the I/O shield in on top of the rear case fan cable, and only noticed after I put the motherboard in.
After taking the motherboard out, I put the cable back properly and reattached the motherboard...and the USB I/O shield tabs went into the USB ports themselves. Resorted to slightly bending the shield outward to get the tab atop the ports.
And then, after all that, I forgot the CPU power, and was convinced I'd killed it.

    Was a pretty good day.
