d3sl91 got a reaction from SQZY98 in Rate the Photo Above you
The leading lines ate leading over and away from the bike, so my eyes are actually first drawn past the bike. Maybe re position lower so you see the grated overpass floor lead to the bike, that would also remove some of the metalwork from appearing through the bike. Also, the bike is blurry. I can't tell if it's out of focus or if you had too slow of shutter speed and shaking.
I do like the coloration though and what you are going for.

d3sl91 got a reaction from LogicalDrm in Where to buy LEGIT and NOT SHADY windows?
No. OEM keys from somewhere like Newegg, NCIX, some sellers on amazon, etc that are ~$100 are properly distributed OEM keys that come as a disk and physical sticker for your system. They will not deactivate.
If you get one of those $40 keys (where some random person emails you a key, but you don't get an actual sticker), yes, those can randomly deactivate (rarely). But this is because the key is part of another licencing system, separate for the system builder's OEM.
Things to know about OEM though terms of use. Someone CANNOT use OEM on their personal system, it is technically against Terms of use to use it on a personal system. It's to be used by an OEM to put on systems they sell and support - not personal systems. - it's in the fine print. However, nobody really follows that and it's not enforced.
Also with OEM:
- you will not get free Microsoft support.
- you can only use it on one motherboard.
- you must choose 64 or 32 bit when you buy it.
- you must do a clean install.
If you really want to play it safe, retail $120 is best bet. And think of it this way - that $120 will get youy hundreds of hours of entertainment. $120 is about the cost of 2 games. Or, 6 trips to the movie theater. You will be using that $120 for SUBSTANTIALLY more time and much more entertainment than a couple of new games or movie theater trips.

Call them. You are having an issue with newegg. Contact their support.
Because when I got Newegg Premiere, it just showed up instantly.

d3sl91 got a reaction from MoonSpot in The situation at Tek syndicate
Pretty sure the mods are fully aware of this thread
As a Portlander I was really excited for future TS meetups and LANs etc. I'll probably still attend assuming TS continues to exist. Similar to how I feel about LTT - I'm more interested in the community than the YouTube Personalities anyway, and both have great communities.

d3sl91 got a reaction from YedZed in PC Building Service
One of the key items, is to figure out your pricing, and then have a very good reason for why they should use you, instead of buying a prebuilt from Best Buy.
As for marketing -
You will not be able to beat BestBuy's prices, so when that question undoubtedly comes up - have a good reason as to why someone should go with you versus the cheap dell. That's your marketing plan - give a good reason as to why someone should spend extra on you.
Getting folks to pay is easy enough -
Just tell them what it will cost, wether that is a flat $50 build fee, or if it's a percentage. If you have already convinced them that it is a good idea to use you versus BestBuy, then getting them to pay isn't that big of a deal.

Redding and Kinguin work fine, not many bad experiences have come from that. But yes, it's expensive, but when you think about it - $120 for the thing that powers your system and provides hundreds and thousands of hours of entertainment... worth it IMO when people drop that much on two games these days that one plays for a dozen hours.

I actually think the subreddit for ms software swap has instructions/links for ISOs as well in case the link doesn't work.
I've used reddit and got a bad code once, contacted seller and sent a new code within a few minutes.
Edit: yes it does have additional links. lower on the right side.

d3sl91 got a reaction from Tech_Dreamer in Anyone else into aquatics?
Just a query, I don't know if its common in the Tech community - but for me fishkeeping falls into the same realm as building computers - the same kind of satisfaction.

d3sl91 reacted to AresKrieger in Is it illegal to download/crack a copy of a game that you already own?
Technically yes, since the illegal act is modifying or aquiring modified software against the licensing, the act of avoiding drm is considered piracy/infringement whether you own it or not
Though the odds of you getting caught are similar to 0%

The only way to turn it of would be to unplug it, and you could put a small house fan next to it while the fan is unplugged.

d3sl91 got a reaction from SansVarnic in Comcast sued by Washington State for 'near-worthless' service plans
Being the "I'd rather fix it myself than wait for the landlord" type of guy anyway, I have not purchased these plans (and didn't even know they existed).
But, being a Washingtonian...yay for my state.

d3sl91 got a reaction from eniacibm in router not stable
Just some things to try:
1. Make sure it is on flat surface with ventilation.
2. make sure it has latest firmware
3. Do a factory reset and reconfigure
4. Try using the router as a router, not an AP by turning off the modem's routing features.
It could also be the modem, you may need to try a different modem to see if it is that.

Yes.
Even my grandma noticed a difference in overall speed, and the now silent operation of her computer.

d3sl91 got a reaction from Capuccino in Should i upgrade?
New GPU, 8GB ram is fine, and CPU still has some life left.
-
d3sl91 got a reaction from Capuccino in Should i upgrade?
It depends. If you decided tp get a 1080, and your CPU is holding it back, how soon before you can update your motherboard/cpu and potentially ram?
If you dont plan on a cpu upgrade for a couple of years, stick with something like what Arc said above.

Possibly, but it doesn't really matter. All is crap that is included.
Just get tried and true Avast + MBAM, AVG + MBAM or other combo.

d3sl91 reacted to Albatross in This just in, America is offended
I find it funny how many people ride the anti-Fox train by regurgitating what others say because it makes them look better. No, what's more, I find it sad.
Anyways, concerning the OP content:
The American flag is a flag for all kinds of people. It represents a nation where no matter what race, religion or skin color you are or possess, we're all Americans and we're all equal. You'd think PC people/SJWs would be for that. But as much as I hate hearing about these morons and how they hate the flag (America), the anthem or whatever else they pull out of their backside, I find it funny and comforting that their ability to make such comments and act like such hypocritical, governmental leeches comes from what that flag represents and the country that flies it.
