Dellers's Achievements

  1. Here's my score with 8700k (not delidded) and 32GB TridentZ RAM (dual rank). I do not run AVX at 4.9 though, only 4.7 to keep temperatures under control. Everything is stable at these settings.
  2. I have been very happy with Seagate Barracuda Pro. I have two 4TB disks, and they've served me great so far. Very fast compared to what I used to have, and I couldn't go back to anything slower. With these two and an SSD I feel that everything is very smooth.
  3. They still don't want my money I guess. I've been waiting for a few years, but when they don't release anything with the performance I want at any given time I don't want to drop that kind of money. One card is more expensive than SLI the last time I bought GPUs, so it doesn't feel right to pay that much for a card that won't stay over 60 fps in all the current games I wanna play. Technology is like food, it's only worth buying while it's still fresh. Pascal is old and not worth spending money on today IMO, it's old tech for premium prices. Most 1080 Tis worth buying are still 150-200 dollars above normal price here in Norway, with the cheapest models just short of 100 above. That's asking way too much.
  4. That I understand. Seriously though, I paid more per GB a few months ago than when I bought my previous computer early in 2011. I bought more RAM this time (32 vs 12GB), costing almost three times as much in total. GPU prices have more than doubled too since then (GTX 1060 6GB is now the same price as my old GTX 580's). Sure, the currency has a lot to do with this as well, but still not that much compared to the actual price increases globally.
  5. I don't like the way tech is going price wise, if this holds true. Instead of better products at a similar price point each generation it looks like it's going to be better products for a much higher price. Each generation a new price point is introduced, and any lower tier products will be moved up a tier. Or even better, RAM. The same RAM with no improvements increased similar to 30 years of inflation in one year. In a healthy market I'd expect to pay these prices for the required amount of RAM when I'm 60 years old and have had my income adjusted. That's twice my current age.
  6. Which shortage? As far as I've seen there has been an abundance of DDR4 available at all times the last couple of years. The selection in the main online stores here in Norway is still overwhelming, yet the prices are ridiculous. 1080 Ti graphics cards on the other hand have been more or less unavailable locally since the beginning of the year, that's what looks like a shortage to me.
  7. Still not a single new 1080 Ti in sight locally, for the fourth month in a row. Not holding my breath regarding better availability until the next generation comes out.
  8. I for one wouldn't mind if it died. It's locally three times more expensive than my LG G2, which was a flagship model back then. My phone isn't limiting me in any way, so I really don't understand what happened in a few years to warrant prices that insane.
  9. I think everyone is still overcharging because supply is almost non existent. I don't know how that store managed to get all those cards, here in Norway supply has been near zero this year. Expected dates for when 1080 Ti cards arrive at the stores is typically one month ahead, and when that date is reached another month has been added already. No one is buying cards because there are none, and (large online) stores overcharge on the maybe 20 cards they receive every 2-3 months as a result. I don't quite understand what the problem is, locally high end supply seems to be a few percent of what's normal. I've heard of some memory supply issues, but is it really this low? I'd expect to hear more about it in the media if it really was as bad as it looks. Demand isn't a problem when stores have been completely out of cards for four months, yet there aren't any cards expected to the stores in the near future.
  10. It's gonna be interesting to see the price. I feel that every time new type of screens come out these days prices go up with something like 20-30 years worth of inflation, while the existing tech doesn't really go down in price.
  11. I haven't played it in a couple of years, but the cheating and such was pretty extreme then. At worst I spent up to one hour to find a single lobby where neither the host or anyone else had cheats running. A shame really, as it's my favorite online shooter by far.
  12. I'm usually very bad at picking favorites, but when it comes to my favorite game it's actually easy. The answer is without any doubt Mafia. Nothing since has been able to give me the same feeling. Thinking about when it was released I'm feeling old.
