Honestly if you are a beginner, rolling release distros are not ideal. You may want to stick with something like Ubuntu for a while and then if you want move to a rolling release take a look at Arch. It has a big community behind and the best documentation you can get.
 
Also you can get MATE up and running on any distribution if that's what you want.
 
BUT having said that, if you really want a ready to go rolling release distro with MATE take a look at Manjaro.

As the name itself implies its a "hack", if you want something reliable this is not for you.

So it has been since Saturday night that i've been without power thanks to hurricane Matthew, and I have had to get creative in order to get my gaming fix.
 
 
After work i fired up the ol' Snes and played some Killer Instinct
 

 
 
Then i dug out the PS-2 and played some Socom: Navy Seals.  
 

 
And lastly i began a new play through of skyrim.  


 
 
I hadn't realized just how realistic the graphics were in these old games. 
 
 

I think that's mostly a consequence of spending a bit close or over your limit. It's akin to buying an old, beat up car and putting yourself into heavy debt to buy a brand new car: you're obviously gonna be extra careful with the new one whereas the old one I can run over every single pothole on the street and still not give a fuck.

Is there a reason why you reacted that way? The person was probably trying to be friendly. Were you obviously trying to avoid conversation (eg: Reading a book or listening to headphones/earbuds)? Because, with the very limited info you've given, that sounds like a very rude thing to say to someone who made no obvious ill intent.

i actually heard of a story of a guy going into an apple store, asking about earbuds, and upon the store guy asking for which device he just casually "thunked" his samsung on the counter.

I go to the gym 3 times a week but I'm not a gym rat.
