  1. Definitely 1080 ATM, they are within ~50 USD of each other anyway.
  2. it should probably work. you can look for a replacement psu that has more wattage by checking hp website/support. im planning on putting a 1050 ti into a dell vostro 270s.
  3. Would this work? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CEKN5VO/ref=asc_df_B01CEKN5VO5151235/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=395033&creativeASIN=B01CEKN5VO&linkCode=df0&hvadid=194017009123&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12131497493540704511&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004326&hvtargid=pla-315259850553
  4. Could one of you link me to one that could work for me? Thanks, I can't find one that does what I want it to.
  5. Hey all; I currently own a Dell Vostro 270s that i upgraded with a 250gb 850 EVO and more ram. However, even low profile graphic cards cannot fit in my pcie 16x slot. I've tried it with a 1050 ti low profile from zotac that I have returned. So, I was wondering if I could connect an external pcie slot to the desktop and add a gpu into that, probably a 1050 ti. Would this work out? Specs if it helps; i5 3470s 8gb ddr3 1600 mhz ram 250gb evo SSD (no HDD b/c of no extra sata cables, not an issue for me though) 220W PSU (pcie slot is not limited by dell, and a 75w card will work with the system, confirmed by dell support) Would this external pcie work with a 75w card, as the best card dell can recommend me is an OEM r7 350x. Thanks
  6. im planning on getting this gpu: http://www.microcenter.com/product/471233/geforce_gtx_1050_ti_4gb_gddr5_mini_video_card im pretty sure it'll fit into one slot and if it doesn't i can get a low profile one from amazon or something
  7. Thanks! I'm planning to buy all my parts from microcenter, as I hear that the support is good from there.
  8. Hi all, I acquired a Dell Vostro 270s for free some time ago and was wondering if I could upgrade it to make it fit for 1080p gaming. I was thinking of putting in a low profile/mini (single slot) 1050 ti, as well as throwing in some more RAM and a SSD. I have a few concerns/questions that I hope you guys could answer; Will the motherboard be able to supply all the power I need for the 1050 ti? I've heard some things about Dell limiting pci-e power but I can't find any labeling that would suggest that on this machine. Will the PSU be able to handle the 1050 ti? I can't find a label (in the computer or online) that tells me the wattage of the PSU, so any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Would I need to get any extra cables to plug in the SSD (i.e. SATA cables?) or do they come with the SSD/are they in the computer already? Thanks for the help! Note: This is my first time building/upgrading, sorry if any of the questions are a bit basic.
  9. yeah, 650w should be good for basically any single gpu
  10. from what i've heard the sandisk ultra ii is pretty good, you can get a 240gb one for around $85 usd
