  1. Hi guys, My current setup is two 970s in SLI for my X34 Predator (3440x1440 @ 100Hz) for most games I can run max settings at 70-80 fps and high at 90-100 fps setup is dandy but some games don't do SLI or scale poorly etc. I see that Nvidia claims that a 1080 is better than two 980s but most benchmarks don't support that However, would it be worth it to upgrade from two 970s? Thoughts?
  2. Hey Everyone, I recently purchased the Acer X34 Predator. It's a beast. It's beautiful. It's blinding. It's beautiful. Love it. My only issue is, because I am new to the 21:9 aspect ratio and watching movies on my PC in general, I'm having trouble finding content to take advantage of my new display. Netflix has widescreen support app that works okay, it loses a lot of resolution while streaming movies, but that makes sense as it's a streaming service. What I want to know is where can I start to build up a movie library (legally of course) that will allow me to playback movies that support this new giant 3440x1440 monitor? Do I get blu rays? Do I invest in a playback software? I have a baller monitor now how the hell do I use it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks everyone!
  3. So like I have dual GTX 970 SLI... could I drive this?
  4. Sup ya'll so I'm planning on upgrading sometime within the year and I wanna share my current setup: Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 7 (hate this board crazy long splash and constantly having to rearrange USB plugins to get them all to work at the same time) Processor: Intel i5 4670k Mem: 8 GB of Ram Graphics: x2 GTX 970 ASUS Strix Monitors: ROG Swift 1440p Gsync Some Cheap SSD for boot and some Western Blues for storage Audio: ODAC+O2 Amp with DT 990 Pros Okay so here's what I want to do! I want to upgrade to the Intel 750 Series PCIe SSD. I want one crazy fast drive for all my games and programs and this is the one I've landed on. Problem is I cannot add it to my current setup as there is not room on the motherboard given I have an SLI setup with the 970s. So as far as I know I would have to get an eATX motherboard to make this work and so I thought I would upgrade the platform while I'm at it. So first question: X99 or Skylake? Will the SSD be bottlenecked by the SLI setup if not on the X99s fat lanes? Second Question: Do I have to have an eATX board or can two GTX 970s and the PCIe SSD fit on one board? I don't see how but if I'm wrong please tell me! Third Question: Hey. How are you? Thanks for the help ya'll!
  5. Hey all I'm in the market for a nice portable drive that can help make my traveling a little more bearable. I'm looking for a small, WIRELESS drive that can connect to my laptop, my phone, my tablet (android) on a plane. My plan is to put some movies on this small wireless drive and just watch them on my devices while I travel. It doesn't need to be huge but fast play back of high res videos would be baller I was looking at the SanDisk media drive but does that need to connect over WiFi? What if I want to watch my movies ON the plane? I ain't gonna pay for plane WiFi to watch videos I have on the drive on my tablet. I'm also looking to limit the number of cables I bring with me so the wireless component would be sweeet. Any products you guys have experience with to accomplish this stuff?
  6. The Y50 and the ROG are both larger laptops. Also I'll be doing professional work in Ecuador so something that comes off as a "gamer" notebook to doctors and clients is not something that I'm looking for. That's what my desktop is for!
  7. Hey Everyone, I've been struggling to find a good laptop recently and after my own horror story with an HP Envy 17 I'm a little scared to pull the trigger on anything. So I'm hoping ya'll can give me a hand. Uses: Student Use Browsing. Travel (I'll be going to Ecuador soon I can't lug around heavy gear) Gaming** Audio Editing For the gaming portion I have a bomb desktop set up so I'm not looking for a desktop replacement just something capable where I can still play shooters with friends online. I'm looking for a 13" (maybe 15") screen hopefully touch. CUSTOMER SERVICE. HP gave me a nightmare of a time with my laptop and has me traumatized. Heck, I'm considering a mac JUST for that. Laptops do have issues and it's not a desktop that I can replace parts all willy nilly. Budget ~$1000 Some laptops I've been looking at: Acer Aspire S7 series (sexy, thin, touch screen) Apple Macbook Pro with Retina 13" (sexy, maybe use bootcamp but I have no experience with PC games on Mac) Samsung ATIV 9 Plus Dell XPS 13 (Heard Dell has good customer support) Any pointers you guys can give me or even some personal experience with a particular model or company would be great. Thanks

    EVOLVE!

Tried everything. Can't find a single game. Hit me up SquirtsMcBoom
  9. Heck I'll enter the giveaway. No luck getting either a 970 or a 980 online anywhere else so fingers crossed!
  10. G Sync Monitors only support a single output though. Isn't G Sync the whole point of getting this monitor
  11. Lemme at that. What graphics setup you use to get those frame rates? 30-40 is totally playable.
  12. Is there something wrong with strix in SLI?
  13. Hey everyone, Waiting on the GTX 980 Strix to come out (it's really the only design that matches the rest of my build) but it looks like it's going to be a while. So I started looking at 970 strix in 2X SLI and I'm wondering (as I am new to SLI) what are the benefits of this setup vs a single GTX 980? Should I wait and get the single 980 now and maybe add another one on later? Keep in mind that I also havent decided if I want to stick with my 1440p monitor or move towards 4k so any help with that in tandem with this decision would be helpful. All the benchmarks I see show the dual setup as offering better performance but I'm not sure if there are other things to consider. Thanks for the help ya'll. I'm running on onboard graphics right now and I can only play so much Awesomenauts.
