  1. What is the best way to go about mounting a Pump/Res combo in the Phanteks Evolv X. I have seen multiple brackets and such but was wondering if there was any way that I could do it without those or if I had to buy a bracket.
  2. @Granular Yeah it included it and I am pretty sure it got installed
  3. I have an old Dell server that I have been working to try and set up as a plex server. I just recently got a couple movies ripped off of dvds using vlc but they came out with really bad quality. I looked into other options and there were lots of recommendations for handbrake so i thought that I would give it a shot. I downloaded the program through the Ubuntu store and ran the needed sudo commands to update/download any other needed tools or packages. I launched handbrake, selected the movie disk and then handbrake scans the disk and says that there is no movie on the disk, even though I know that there is. I have put way to much time into trying to figure this out on my own and was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Thanks!
  4. Having the same issue again, I just don't want my CPU at 5ghz all the time because I know that constant voltage can be hard on it. It also seems to hurt fps in games more than help, when it isn't constantly boosting then I tend to get higher fps. I think that it might just be a windows issue at this point. I have tried all the same steps again and nothing seems to be working.
  5. It is now working again, we will see how long this lasts
  6. And upon restart it still doesn't work and went back to boosting all the time
  7. Never mind, I guess I fixed it by going into windows and dropping the maximum processor speed to 10 and then back to 100
  8. My 7700K is boosting to 5Ghz all the time. I am unable to get it to stop. I have tried restarting, clearing cmos, reseating RAM, unoverclocking, and limiting the processor speed in windows. Regardless of what I do my CPU is constantly booting to the max boost clock. It is affecting performance in games and now won't even let me launch some games. Was wondering if I should try and reinstall windows or maybe update my bios. I have no Idea why this is happening but I have been trying to fix it for a couple of hours now so any help is very much appreciated.
  9. Every time I launch overwatch it will open then close right a way. I have tried reinstalling the game twice and Scan & Repair twice. I have also restarted my computer. There aren’t any error codes or anything, it just opens for half a second then closes. Would love any ideas on how to fix this issue
  10. So I recently got an old Dell Poweredge t610 server to use as a media server and home server, I am attempting to boot from a flash drive that has been imaged with an Ubuntu download. Whenever I try and boot to the flash drive, The server says that the isolinux.bin file is missing or corrupt. I tried to look at how to created an iso file for Ubuntu but I have to be booted into Linux for that. Was wondering if anyone knows anything about this?
  11. My CPU (7700K) is sitting at 5 ghz and isn't adjusting while it is at idle, this all started right after I closed out of doom, I went into a game of overwatch right afterwards and I was very choppy and laggy, which it isn't normally. I know that it isn't good for you to force constant voltage through your processor and I was wondering if anyone knew a way of fixing this or if this was OK. I have tried Re seating my Ram, CPU, and CPU power cable and even tried setting my bios to optimized defaults. I have also tried underclocking it and just overclocking it less.

  13. Double check that the correct side of each cable is plugged into the PSU/MoBo
  14. Use https://pcpartpicker.com/ to easily part out your build I would say maybe get a little better PSU, It will give you a bit more overhead for overclocking if you are interested and upgrades Also spend the extra $10 on a Samsung 850 evo 250gb SSD, better overall SSD One other thing is to make sure all of your lighting software is sync able and RGB (If that matters to you), for example all Asus aura sync, or all MSI mystic light As a heads up the 8600 isn't oveclockable, if that is something that you were interested in I would look into Ryzen I will also always recommend Asus products (i.e. MoBo, GPU). I would also recommend getting a strix card if the budget allows due to the better cooler Some of this comes down to personal preference as well, this is what I would do, that doesn't mean that it is right or wrong, If you like one thing over another, buy the one that you like
  15. Also a good idea, I have a gaming X card and the cooler performs fine but I would rather probably have a Strix card for better lighting integration and the little bit better cooler
  16. If it fits better in your budget, buy the 1070 ti, otherwise go for the 1080. they are both great performing cards and not super far off from each other performance wise.
  17. Alright that is what I thought
  18. Is anyone else having the issue with iCUE where their fans switch back to the default RGB swirl and won't display your profile? If so does anyone know how to fix it or when Corsair will fix it? Thanks
  19. My friend bought a prebuilt the came loaded with a ton of bloatware and I have been trying to help him uninstall Idle buddy. I have found a bunch of websites that say to download other programs but I feel that those programs are likely viruses as well. could someone please recommend a reputable website/program/method of uninstalling this program? Thanks
  20. That and if I run different fan curves I might be able to offset the intake:exhaust ratio
  21. It might just be nothing and I am just over analyzing
