  1. freesync requires the display port standard
  2. damn dude, here they're pretty cheap through Dell
  3. the current best is the Alienware AW3418DW, it is 3440x1440, IPS, G-Sync, and 120hz, it is better than both the Acer x34 and the Asus PG348Q
  4. Definitely look at the Asus PG279Q and the Acer XB271HU bmiprz, both use the same 1440p 165hz IPS panel
  5. How important are colors to you? And do you absolutely need a curved display? The PG27VQ is a TN panel so it's kind of meh, the PG279Q is an IPS panel that is also a 1440p 165hz G-Sync but it isn't curved, if you want an ultrawide go for the Alienware AW3418DW, it's pretty much a better monitor than the X34 in every right now and they're about the same price
  6. The Alienware AW3418DW is better than anything Acer currently offers
  7. You ever done a Google search? Tons of threads on it
  8. It isn't false information, Asus says it's "up to 100hz" but only lucky people are getting that, the average norm is 95hz, they are also not accepting RMA's for anyone who's unhappy with 95 since they don't guarantee 100, only say it's a possibility
  9. The PG348Q and X34 use the same panel which is 75hz native with a chance at 100hz if youre lucky, and thats assuming you also won the lottery in terrms of backlight bleed, flickering, and bad scan lines, both of them have had serious quality issues which is why the second hand market is so saturated with them the Omen X35 uses the same VA panel as the Asus Z35p which is known to have some nasty ghosting issues and weird backlight glow, worst of all is that Acer and Asus arent being great when it comes to honoring warranty the Alienware is 100hz native with an out of the box guaranteed 120hz OC, its IPS with LG's newest gen panels and has about as little light bleed as possible on an IPS panel, it has a better stand than the others and has a pixel perfect guarantee for even a single pixel, TFT centrals review says its the best ultrawide gaming monitor currently on the market
  10. keep in mind the 100 hz isnt guaranteed only a maybe
  11. the Alienware AW3418DW is better than all of the above
  12. are you sure theyre the same price? the S27 is almost twice the price of the S24 but its a better monitor in every way
  13. Z35P is a VA panel and its been shown to have ghosting issues, the AW3418DW is IPS and doesnt have any of the backlight bleed, ghosting, or overclock issues all the others do
  14. Cancel it again, sign up for Dell advantage, you'll get the free expedited, for me it was $865 when I ordered because if a 6% off the $999 sale price+$75 cash back, if those extras aren't offered you'll at least get the free expedited
  15. It's currently the best you can get when it comes to IPS ultrawides, completely minimal BLB, it's an upgrade in every way to my old PG348Q, the stand is so sturdy you'd swear it's been chiseled from a single piece of metal, it screams quality everywhere the Asus showed signs of cutting corners, it's also a lot more undertstated That doesn't really matter, Dell doesn't actually have them in stock so you'll be waiting a week or so for production before it actually ships, so you'd be paying $25 to simply receive it in 7-9 days at best instead of 9-10 days, you may be able to get free expedited if it stall hasn't arrived by their estimated date at purchase
  16. the SSD Plus is on the slower side of ssd's but its large enough to be worth it
  17. aside from the shitty monitor it seems fine, 1060 is almost too op for 1080p 60hz
  18. You'll see this, which is a 16:9 27" image, to me, I'd rather have the black bars in games that don't support it, than not have the extra field of view just because I don't like black bars
  19. in that case id pick the 16:9 1440p panel like a PG279Q or Acer XB271HU bmiprz which is ips and Gsync, it should be right in your budget
  20. if you can stretch your budget a bit the Alienware AW3418DW is on sale right now, if you use dell advantage its around $900 and the overall better display
  21. https://egpu.io/forums/mac-setup/pcie-slot-dgpu-vs-thunderbolt-3-egpu-internal-display-test/ good read
  22. it depends on the size of the monitor, with a 34" ultrawide in games that do support it you have a much wider field of view, in games that dont support iy its the same as playing on a 27" 16:9 monitor
  23. it would be roughly the same since TB 3.0 is PCI-E x4
  24. i have both a 3440x1440 120Hz ultrawide and a 1080p 240hz panel, unless you have the skill level to make use of the 240hz its not a good investment, if i could only have one id take the lower refresh UW
