  1. my psu has a power switch on it, why would I have to plug it into my case to test the motherboard? when my pc was working I would turn it off by the button on the case and there would still be lights on the motherboard that stayed on.
  2. I have taken it out of the case because I want to test it with as few parts as possible. Just the cpu, mobo, cooler, and the psu. It didnt work in case and its not working out of case
  3. If the PSU is working but the mobo is faulty would the psu fan still turn on?
  4. intel. specs: i5-7600k MSI z270 tomahawk arctic Corsair RM650X psu Corsair Vengeance RAM (8GB) Hyper 212 evo cooler But I am only plugging in the psu, mobo, cooler, and I have the cpu in as well.
  5. It is my first build, however I have had it up and running for over a month, and then I shut it down and it would never turn back on again. The PSU is being switched on, and the cables are firmly in place.
  6. Hi guys, My computer isn't receiving any power at all. I tried plugging just the psu into the motherboard via the power cable and the cpu power cable. I'm getting no lights, no fan, nothing. I brought it to a repair shop and they said the only non-functioning piece is the motherboard. But upon buying a new motherboard and trying a build with that and once again getting no power I can't see that being the problem (unless this motherboard was faulty from the get-go). Can anyone think of why I wouldn't be getting any power? The wall socket works, and I've tried with 2 different PSU's and motherboards. Could a faulty CPU be preventing me from turning on the mobo?
  7. Windows 10, just got a hold of support and supposedly they can activate my windows on a new motherboard
  8. Just contacted support, they said they can activate it on my new motherboard thankfully
  9. Well that really sounds unfortunate... so because my mobo broke I'll have to buy a new one and new windows?
  10. I5-7600k rm650x - corsair Msi gtx 1070 had Asus z270-p but looking at MSI z270 tomahawk 8GB RAM with corsair vengeance
  11. Could I just contact microsoft to have this changed? The motherboard will literally not work as is and I have to replace it.
  12. Hey everyone, I recently had my Asus mobo crap out on me and I am replacing it as Asus says the damage isn't covered by warranty. Is there anything I need to know if I want to replace it with a different motherboard? Anything specific I need to do or can I just basically build from scratch with all my other components?
  13. I'm going with 8GB for now, as I'm a little short on cash. I plan on upgrading to 16Gb in a few months when I get back to my second job and have some extra money available
