  1. Budget (including currency): Depends on what is being upgraded, happy to pay more for a very good system :) Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming at 4K 120hz, (Cyberpunk, Horizon Forbidden West, Baldurs gate 3, Flight Sim 2020) and Game development, maybe streaming occasionally but not that high priority Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Current PC Specs: i7 10700F 2070 Super 32GB DDR4 3200 Enhance 600W Power supply Velka 3 Case I recently upgraded to a LGC2 42inch monitor and my GPU can't keep up with 4K gaming at high settings and frame rate. I'm wanting to upgrade to a 7900XTX specifically because it seems better priced then the 4080 and I'm wanting to use it with my PSVR2 headset ( , only going to be AMD supported for a while) So I'll be getting a new case and power supply for that but I'm curious if my 10700F will be holding it back at 4K high frame rate. Is it worth upgrading to a 14700 or a ryzen 7 (not familiar with AMD CPUs) or should I wait a couple more years on that? Thanks!
  2. what does a double forward PSU mean and how does it affect the gpu? Not heard of this so very curious
  3. Good point, will do that and post if that works Man I really hope not as well. Definitely didn't force it or do anything that I think could have broken it. This is a very heavy card though so need to be careful. Also very expensive so definitely don't want to do anything that could damage it.
  4. Hey everyone, I was doing a simple GPU upgrade on my friends pc yesterday but something seems to have gone wrong. All I was doing was replacing his 2070 with a 3080 Ti (I built the original PC) but for some reason its not working. When we put the new GPU in the motherboard speaker does one long beep and then 3 short. We have determined this is to do with a GPU problem from looking online. I disabled CSM in the bios as this seems to be a common issue with the 30 series GPUs but this unfortunately didn't help, the boot drive in this pc is a sata SSD so I assumed this wouldn't have any issues there as it seems it only affects boot PCIE drives.. I also reseated the ram because a few sites suggested that (but I didn't really expect this to do anything). I also switched from using just one power supply cable to two separate ones as that was suggested. Unfortunately now after removing the GPU it still gives the same error even when no GPU is connected (trying to just use integrated graphics on the i7 8700) and no image is displayed. I no longer have the old 2070 as that was sold to someone else. I could potentially try putting the 3080 Ti in my build but I'm a little concerned the card is DOA and somehow screwed up his system (doubt this but I suppose it could be possible). Any ideas? His build: CPU: i7 8700 GPU: Galax 3080 Ti Ram: 2x 8GB ddr4 Motherboard: Asus TUF H370 Pro Gaming Wi-Fi Power supply: Its a fully modular 750w I think by thermaltake? Its a pretty good model, definitely 80 plus something (I think gold but not 100%).
  5. There's a couple of good places which sell pc stuff but it all still tends to be more expensive then the us
  6. Thanks! Unfortunately, they don't ship to Australia Maybe I should have mentioned that's where I am which makes things more annoying.
  7. Oh, is that not a thing? I assumed I'd be able to run them in 5760x1080? Although I didn't actually look into it... Might be a bit too expensive for me but if you could find the model number that would be great!
  8. 1440p 60hz + 2 1080p 60Hz. I did a little bit of research and it was still less than 1440p ultrawide. I do want to have at least 2 monitors tho because even with an ultrawide I like being able to see lots of things open and when gaming.
  9. Hey everyone! Been watching LTT videos for quite a while but have only just joined on here. I currently want to upgrade my monitor setup. I currently have 3 1080p 21-inch monitors, the two side ones are different to the middle one which is about 8 years now and is a little dodgy and has pretty poor colours. I'm either thinking to replace the middle one with an ultrawide (sell both it and one of the side ones and then maybe keep the remaining one for like discord and stuff) OR to replace the middle one with a 1440p monitor and to replace the two sides ones with 1080p monitors which are the same model other then the resolution (so they fit together) But I'm not sure if there are any models like that. My plan would be to play games 1440p on the centre monitor or if I wanted to do surround then I could just drop the res on the middle one and do that. I'd like to do this so I could get monitors with super thin bezels. As an ultrawide I found this one which is pretty cheap so that could be an option: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/lg-29-219-full-hd-ultrawide-ips-led-monitor-29um58-lg/ Going for a 1440p ultrawide is way out of my budget unfortunately My current setup is a i7 4770k with a GTX 780 Ti which I plan to upgrade to the 1180 (or whatever nvidia calls it) which will hopefully launch next year. I mostly use my PC for coding and playing casual games (RPG / Strategy mostly) so would like nice colours and resolution over 144hz and 1ms response times. Thanks
