    ^THIS

Anyone that's had to trap rats know that you place the traps against walls and other objects; they feel more secure running along side something as a guide for navigation. And yes, smell is the deciding factor of which direction to head.

Fun fact: Cheese doesn't make for good bait. Rats love oranges / citrus (they will go crazy for pineapple) and nuts; their high metabolism demands the concentrated energy found in such foods.

See here's the thing, many animals don't rely on vision as much as humans do. That rat probably relies on smell more than vision to live in an environment so the illusion probably won't be effective

According to a quick google search, rats are extremely nearsighted, so the rat probably can't even see whats on that screen lol.

Its probably like designing a videogame with no visuals, only audio cues, and expecting people to play well. Except the audio cues are mostly in a really high and really low frequency which you can't hear anyways. I bet that rat is just going on memory

In all fairness battlefield 4 had a bad launch as well. And I remember battlefield 1 going on sale around the same timeframe. Dice/EA is kinda known at this point for releasing games in a buggy state and patching it later on

Haven't given it a shot, and I might do so if its free. Though I fundamentally hate the idea of characters in battlefield, I think it goes against the spirit of being a "no name soldier on a massive battlefield" that I got from previous games. And halo infinite is also free and probably better too

It's the good old "depends on your use case", also keeping in mind that beyond a certain point there are diminishing returns. At one extreme we have workloads like Cinebench that are essentially unaffected by ram speed. Gaming, depending on the title, might see modest gains to a point. My other interest is finding prime numbers. The software is essentially the same as Prime95, which is more often misunderstood or dismissed as unrealistic. It is a very real workload. While it has a reputation for being punishing on CPU, at bigger FFT sizes it is also punishing on the cache and ram subsystems too. For practical purposes, high core count consumer tier CPUs are ram bandwidth limited in that scenario. As we get more cores, we need more bandwidth to feed it. With Ryzen, AMD have really thrown that balance out of the window and we have far more core potential than ram bandwidth to feed it. However they've chosen a different path to mitigate it, by providing bigger caches. So it will depend on the workload and the overall platform balance of resources.

I think you're missing the point a bit. What I'm getting out of this video is that it's a good way to show how the way Linux does stuff allows you to make the kinds of mistakes Linus made as a beginner in this video. In reality, Linus being a bit of klutz when dealing with Linux is an object lesson to any distro developer that people like Linus exist, people who have no clue about Linux, who want to dabble with it and bounce right back if they encounter some catastrophic error. It doesn't matter that the error was preventable or even that the terminal clearly outlined the consequences. How many times have you or anyone else on this forum as the designated tech support in their family or circle of friends dealt with someone who clicks away error messages without reading them? There's no point in trying to educate them for one single fundamental reason: They simply do not give a single solitary flying fuck. They just want their machine to work. I think this is a really important aspect that Linux needs to take to heart, both with how they design their distros as well as their user documentation: You need to dumb this stuff down harder, implement fail safes for beginners and actually tutorialize the OS properly if the goal is broad mass market appeal.

There's this YouTuber who goes by the handle Tantacrul, who occasionally makes videos about music production software and especially music notation software where he breaks down all the ways they fail to provide an adequate experience for a user, especially new users. He did a video for Steinberg's Dorico, a software that he hadn't used before and he also invited a bunch of randos to download the trial as well and sat in with them to record their first time user experience. Here's the video for those who care to give it a watch:
Feedback like this should be treated like a gift from the gods (which another notation software, MuseScore, did, and he's now a dev on that project because of it), because as a software and/or UI/UX designer, you can learn so much from it for free. But only if you bother to do so. My point is that feedback doesn't need to come from someone who is knowledgeable about the thing they're giving feedback. If someone can bounce off your software so hard the problem isn't the user, it's the software. It's easy to point fingers and say "Linus did it wrong" or "Why didn't Linus read the terminal", but that misses the broader point the central question much of this revolves around: Why should he have to? And if what he did wrong was so obvious to you, why wasn't it to him?

Exactly. There is one that has 27 trillion units in circulation; unlimited supply cap; only 1 node; 25% of it was made in last 6 months and 1% of holders own 30% of all market cap.

Trouble is, that this coin I mean is the most regulated coin - US dollar. And this regulation didn't prevent anything, if not made it worse. Also, I don't know what you mean by not every coin is secure investment; there is no secure investment on this world at all. Yeah crypto is especially unsecure, but nobody forces you to invest in that anyways.

Pretty much yes, if it is Verified on Steam Deck then it can work on almost every Linux system. Notice I said "can work" and not "will work" though, system specific configurations will affect real world results.
