  1. Bing also is better because it gives rewards, if you grind MS rewards enough you can basically get gamepass for free
  2. What about old games? A lot of games that were made a long time ago and stopped being updated, that I think should at least be playable in the future. Games like the old temple run games or cut the rope, for example, probably won't be updated. I think these should be preserved at least for historical reasons, given their impact on mobile gaming
  3. Ngl when we get AI generated music on the level of what stable diffusion can do for art I might prefer that to human made music Also would be cool to see an AI that could extend/shorten pieces
  4. Given how unprecedented this is I'm sure before this incident there were a lot of other things higher up on the list to spend money on for the FAA. Makes me wonder what other systems they have that are also prone to a failure like this, at least this time the outcome wasn't really bad.
  5. Summary This morning the FAA grounded all flights in the US after a glitch caused the NOTAM system to fail. Although the system is back up (9AM EST) it seems that in total 4,300 flights into or out of the US were delayed. There is no evidence of a cyberattack at this point. Quotes My thoughts I'm surprised there isn't more redundancy in these systems, or if there is, the issue was so big that it was able to cause such a big problem. Many of airlines must have lost a lot of money due to this error. 6. I actually use bing, but only because I get free months of gamepass through bing rewards. Would be nice if more search engines did that (a rewards system) I can't say I find the UI being cluttered as a main issue though.
  7. Kind of a shame, I would like to see more small phones since they've all gotten so big these days.
  8. I mean tbf my expectations aren't the highest, but for Halo infinite at least I was playing 4K multiplayer yesterday and didn't notice anything off. That's a pretty recent game, and it doesn't feel awful. And again, I don't think 4K is actually needed for the majority of people (myself included) who sit a few feet away from their monitor and don't have something the size of a TV. Games like Elden ring which are also quite recent are able to run well on my steam deck, much less a 3070, so no problems there also. And I barely notice the fact that it's running at 720p 45 fps low settings since it's not that close to my face. Really makes me think if people actually notice any differences in playing at 4K if they are sitting at a normal distance from their screen. I also haven't really seen any mind blowing game graphics in a while that are too intensive for modern hardware, like crysis, or even on the level of battlefield 1. Instead it seems like poorly performing games are just not well optimized nowadays rather than trying something extremely graphically intensive.
  9. Also GPUs from past generations are still extremely powerful still. My 3070 already crushes 4K gaming, and from the distance I sit from my monitor I don't even need to play in 4K.
  10. AI generated art right now seems to have a lot of parallels to early photography, at least to me. At first you have people who dislike it because it seemingly takes away "skill" from art, but will probably evolve into an art form on its own. https://www.artandobject.com/news/today-painting-dead-photographys-revolutionary-effect
  11. I am absolutely certain that China could get their hands on a relatively small sample of CPUs if they really wanted to. I mean, if they send some people over to any other country that sells them, just buy up a few and fly back, who's going to stop them or find out?
  12. Dang it I wanted COD on gamepass... no way I'm paying 60 bucks for a yearly cod release lol
  13. I don't use social media at all (not including this forum and watching some YouTube I guess) but I honestly doubt social media is going to be that big of a deal long term. At least not more so than any other technology that connects people. Many of the issues we see with social media IMO have historical parallels, and I think we turned out fine in the long run. The printing press, for example, also lead to greater proliferation of propaganda and misinformation throughout society. I mean if you've taken a history class I'm sure you've seen political cartoons, leaflets, etc. all throughout history. If propaganda and conspiracy theories can't be spread through social media, then it would just be spread through newspapers, word of mouth, leaflets, etc. Radicalization is also nothing new, I mean just look at everything that happened in the 20th century. As for data collection by governments and corporations, those two entities have always been quite powerful throughout history.
  14. I think that the next major thing is probably going to be water based, in this demo the water was the only thing that looked slightly off
  15. Is it hard to remove once it resolidifies if you turn off your computer for an extended amount of time?
  16. From what I've been hearing about this game, 30 fps almost sounds very good. If an m1 mac can run this then I'm sure it can run basically any other switch game acceptably.
  17. Let me know when Todd Howard makes skyrim mobile edition, it's only a matter of time
  18. PC in bedroom can suck because of the heat. Experienced that one firsthand.
  19. Performance isn't everything. Tbh there are plenty of great games that you can play for the foreseeable future on steam deck. Games like Skyrim, Elden Ring, Fallout New Vegas, etc. all run great and will continue to run great as long as the system exists. I think if you're looking to play mostly single player RPGs the steam deck is a much more enjoyable experience than gaming laptops or even desktops. On the other hand if you want to play competitive FPS games the steam deck kinda sucks for that. gaming laptops aren't all that upgradable either. In fact most are probably less repairable than the deck too.
  20. You clearly haven't experienced playing video games in bed then.
  21. As long as it's confined to the store I'm fine with it tbh (The ad placement, not the tracking). And if there's some sort of QC to make sure the apps are actually useful or fun it might even be a good thing
  22. I remember when a lot of people (especially on this forum) were very adamant about not switching to windows 10 from windows 7, and at the time it made a lot of sense not to. Not to mention how a lot of people still prefer the look of windows 7 to 10. But today I don't think I see anyone not on at least windows 10. Point being, at some point people are going to start switching regardless of how you think it looks. Probably when MS turns off support for WIndows 10. 5 or so years ago people were saying the same about 7 and how bad 10 looks.
  23. If chromeos is a Linux distro wouldn't it just make more sense to make Chromebooks with decent hardware for gaming? They could literally just use Ryzen APUs
