UnprovenTheory's Achievements

  1. Hey everyone, When I first built my PC five or so years ago I got an m.2 (Samsung 960 Evo 250GB) and have it as my boot drive, and when I rebuilt everything a year or so ago (gotta love a dead motherboard/CPU fault) I kept the same boot drive since I'd just dropped a heap on a new CPU/Mobo. Anyway, I've just bought myself a Samsung 970 Evo 1TB NVMe M.2 and I want to have that become my new boot. My Mobo has two M.2 slots, and I'm just wondering if I can connect the old boot drive after I've set up the new one (doing a clean install to keep things tidy), to wipe it? Will it create a problem when it comes to booting if there are two boot drives? I want to be able to safely wipe the old drive to sell it, so I definitely need to wipe it. If anyone has any good ideas on the whole process (setting up the new drive etc.) I'd really love to hear it as I am a bit out of practice at the moment. Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the diagram, that really cleared things up! Much appreciated!
  3. Hey everyone, I'm currently working on a new build due to the sudden death of my last motherboard (RIP) and along with a new CPU and Mobo, I have bought myself three new Corsair ML Pro 120s and a new Corsair H115i 280mm Platinum CPU cooler. I am super unfamiliar with Corsair products and after doing some troubleshooting on the Corsair forums I am still a little confused. I looked at these diagrams about RGB accessories and honestly it made me a little more confused. I want to be able to monitor and control my fan speeds (not just the ones on the AIO) and I think to do that I need the Corsair Commander Pro and not just the Lighting Node Pro, but I'm still not 100% certain. When I looked on the Corsair forum, the diagram that looked most similar to my setup used a PWM repeater and a Lighting Node Core instead of the Commander Pro. And that's when I got confused, because I thought that was the whole point of the Commander Pro, to control extra fans and whatnot. Do I need to buy a Corsair Commander Pro? And if I do, do I plug the fans on the AIO into it or the motherboard? Thanks in advance!
  4. Thanks, I thought it was pump to fans. I'm stressed and making silly errors!
  5. It's my first build man, I'm still learning. The fans literally don't fit into the NZXT water cooler, so I will just plug them into the motherboard.
  6. That's the cable that I'm confused about, because it asks to plus in the fans. So is it a USB instead?
  7. The thing is it isn't a 3 pin and 4 pin, at least I don't think it is. Hopefully my photos show the pins and header clearly enough. Thanks for your help!
  8. I have a Kraken X52 and I have attached two Thermaltake Riing Plus RGB fans to it. However now that's it's all installed in my case I have noticed that the cable that is supposed to connect the pump to the fans are incompatible (they have a different number of pins) and am not sure what to do. Can I just plug the fans into the controller box that Thermaltake includes with the fans? Or do I need to remove these fans and install the NZXT ones? I would prefer to use the RGB fans that I purchased because I plan on using the lighting options available. So if I can manage the fans through the Thermaltake software and have them just work separately from the pump, that would be cool. This is my first build and I'm stuck so any help would be appreciated
