  1. My iPad does not have a camera. I already admited that I am wrong in this contract, if you feel helping me break into my own computer in spite of the contract is malicious then I apologise. I already emailed this page to my friend who can help me. The useful tips I have revived are already there for him...
  2. Have no smartphone. Do have a camera though. I will give you a photo when my friend comes to help me I do not know how to attach the camera to this ipad
  3. You may be correct but even then it would take me much longer to figurr it all out when I have someone who can help me. I know mt computer is very old but I it does everything I need it to do. I can't justify spending hundreds of dollars on a new computer that does everything my current one can, just faster. I'll gladly wait the extra few seconds and not spend money needlessly
  4. No way to screenshot from the login that I know of since I can't get past it to save. From what I understand though it is the Windows login screen yes. Not a special page or wall they added a password to my user account which did not have a password before.
  5. There's nothing I need immediately. I'm going to email this entire conversation to one of my friends and have their son come over to look at my computer. Hopefully a combination of the steps described on this page and his existing technological knowledge will get me the information I need off my computer.
  6. Certainly something to consider. But if anything, you guys here have given me hope that this might be a simple fix if I can get my information on a new computer. As much as I would love to tear them a new one so to say I'm also in breach of contract and wouldn't mind the situation going away if I could just get my files back.
  7. I don't think they would take me to court. If I can get my files on a new pc without their software they lose their leverage and will probably leave me alone at that point.
  8. I will if I have to. For now I would be satisfied if I got back my files, after all I am in breach of contract and would prefer to settle this matter privately.
  9. I'm not a techie. My computer connects to the internet, I also have a ipad I never use and some itv or ibox or ivideo whatever its called for the tv I don't use. I understand enough about computers and the web to get by but things like this blow my mind...
  10. That is interesting, as I recall he told me this program is for comparability because my computer is too old for the new router and they don't give new customers older routers.
  11. I never thought I'd have to worry about this. I figured any reputable company would have a reasonable contract
  12. Easy for you to say! Even so I would be scared to death that I would mess it up and lose everything. I have a friend who's son is very good with this I can email him this conversation and he can figure it out. I really appreciate the info! I hope that works.
  13. I never thought this many people would chime in to help me I really appreciate it.
  14. Other than the laywer thing that is way beyond what I can do with a computer. Maybe one of my friends' kids could do that but not me.
  15. That is a fair bit above my understanding. You are saying I can take the brain out basically and transplant, but won't the new computer say the same thing?
  16. I need a way to get back in. Even if it means a one time thing, get all my files and throw away the PC I can justify buying a new pc but not paying the ISP!
  17. Also that would mean the terrorists win
  18. They want 3 months of service plus late fees and I'd have to pay each month until April of 2018
  19. I need my documents and emails and photos and everything. I don't have anything online my emails are in outlook and my photos are in my photos everything I have digital is on this computer
  20. Hello Linus Forum. I am a subscriber to NETCO internet. When I signed up the ISP's technician installed software on my personal computer so I could connect to the internet. I'm currently in a contract with them for 24 months of service but I've had very bad service and recently switched providers. NETCO claims I owe for multiple months of service since I am under contract but I have been refusing to pay. This weekend they stuck back at me by disabling my computer with whatever software they installed when I first signed up. My Windows account now has a password it never had before with the message on screen 'Contact NETCO customer service for information on logging into this system' I understand I signed a contract but I can't imagine I agreed to anything like this and even if I did I need my computer! How do I regain control of my computer now that they have locked me out?
