  2. Hi All, Rather new to Plex and I've built up a media library of H.264 and H.265 content and need some assistance with Hardware Transcoding. I don't have a dedicated Plex Server set up at the moment and likely won't for a few months so it's running off my gaming desktop. Is it possible to force Plex to transcode content using the Intel iGPU when I have another Graphics card connected? I know the easiest solution would be to force Direct Play only but this isn't an option for all my Client devices. I have an i7 8700k, the Intel HD 630 is enabled within BIOS. I don't see an option unfortunately to select which GPU should be used when transcoding. Is it possible to have PLEX use the Intel iGPU for transcoding while allowing my 2070 Super to be used for games ect? Any help would be appreciated.
  3. Hi All, Looking for some hardware recommendations for a budget(ish) ITX Freenas build that will live in a Node 304. Ideally looking to spend no more than £400 for the hardware excluding hard drives. - Will initially be running 3 8TB WD Reds or Whites if I can shuck them from Easystores. - Would prefer ECC - Looking to run a maximum of 3 1080p PLEX streams at once. - Open to using Intel or AMD but as its a budget build AMD seems to give more price / performance Any suggestions for hardware would be appreciated, does not need to be an ITX chassis.
  4. Hi thanks for the suggestions. I've reached out to Acer to see if its covered under warranty (unlikely).
  5. So this is an annoying and frustrating issue but there's a small very visible red insect currently crawling around my Acer Predator X34p monitor. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove it when its still alive? The last thing I want to do is crush it and have it smeared there permanently or damage my display. Purchased June 2018. Two year warranty with Acer I believe.

  9. The 710 is such a low end part I dont imagine anything outside of a pentium 4 would be a bottleneck. As others have said budget location and current specs.
  10. Paid 20 quid to have a repair shop plug in a sata cable because I knew nothing about troubleshooting.
  11. Don't use Dban on an SSD. If you're simply re-installing Windows format the drives.

  13. Looking for suggestions on buying a PCI-E Wireless card for a desktop running Linux Mate. Looking for something that supports Wifi (2.4 and 5GHz) bands and Bluetooth within Linux.
  14. If there's no PCI Connection either it simply won't work (Which I really believe it won't) or the bandwidth offered by USB 3.1 Gen 2 won't be enough to have anything other that a shit experience. It won't work though.

You're really missing out without touchscreen on a laptop. When implemented well it's fantastic.
  16. Server power supply in place of standard ATX psu?
  17. You should honestly just be able to connect the SDD to your new system if you really want and start using your system.
  18. Offer Up really doesn't like GDPR. Blacklisted any EU ip lol
  19. It's possible but it depends on getting a compatible screen.

You need to be 16 in the UK to buy 'energy' drinks now. Which requires photo ID. I'm guessing you picked up something akin to an energy drink. Canada doesn't seem to have these laws though, store policy maybe?
