  1. Heya! For a few months now we're having one big issue here with a lot of our displays at work and so far no solution that I or we tried really worked that wasn't "just a workaround". For a lot of users their displays just randomly go black, either becoming "ghost-screens" to Windows (or even just entirely disappearing) where Windows still thinks a display is connected and "shows" content there, however the display itself goes into Standby and doesn't come back anymore no matter what we try. The only "solution" to this is either physically un- and re-plugging the monitor/notebook or going into device manager and re-installing the same graphics driver manually, not even the Win + Shift + Ctrl + B shortcut helps in this case. Our main setups are Lenovo Laptops with Lenovo Docking Stations, however the same issues are also happening on various brand Mini-PCs and Workstations alike across many different hardware and display constellations. There is no distinct way of saying that it would or could be one specific hardware setup, one display model, cables, adapters, or anything really... this is happening on PCs and Laptops regardless of what GPU or driver version they have, across different cable brands. The only similarity almost all of them, but not every single one, have is DisplayPort. But this also seems to happen on HDMI connected displays, even tho we don't have too many of those here. Due to the sheer differences in hardware and driver versions where this is happening by now I suspect a Windows Update in the past months, but narrowing down which one is going to be a nightmare... Is anyone else having a similar issue and maybe has a solutions for this? Thanks a ton in advance already!
  2. I'm aware this thread is almost 2 years old by now, but since this was one of the very top results on Google I'll comment for other people here too. Apparently: Yes Cinebench is heavily dependent on the type of storage you're loading it from... I ran a bare metal Windows Server 2022 with 32 physical, 64 logical cores and 128GB RAM on one server grade HDD and got a score of around 12000, while I then set up ESXi 7 and set up a Windows Server 2022 VM there with 64 cores (since ESXi doesn't care about physical/logical) but only 32GB RAM however on a SSD and got above 13000 as a score back... While it's not a huge difference, it definitely does something and in a nutshell makes Cinebench one of the probably worst benchmarks out there for consistency... which I'll definitely consider for further benchmarks from now on and will NOT use it anymore. Here's the screenshot: Right is HDD + bare metal, left is ESXi 7 VM + SSD. Ignore "Win 2016" there, Cinebench displays that wrong.
  3. Yeah, nah the closest friend circle is already in contact again and all so I at least have that again. It just sucks for others that aren't as close or don't have me on other platforms and don't know to check my Twitter as example. A few already are back in contact, still sucks and all.
  4. That's always easier said than done, and the most important ones I do have more ways to stay in contact with. But it's for those that I haven't.
  5. A cringe 2009ish-me decision... LP was for "Let's Play" back then, these days not so much anymore but the name stuck around due to a few people knowing me under this tag.
  6. As much as this is meant as a joke I'd love to try this lol, but obviously can't change it now. And yep, I'm aware of their support team and "other things" that went on...
  7. It doesn't, however first of all it means "ban evasion" and second it still doesn't give me the connections of the past 7 years back, neither the chatlogs and servers I was in. They're also not acting on GDPR requests so far, but I still want to give them more time to handle that.
  8. Obviously I haven't "spammed" them, but if one of those gets closed it doesn't matter if you reply to it, they simply closed that ticket and it's gone for them. I went ahead when one was closed and opened another one, trying to get in touch with an actual human being there, and ended up with about 6-8 tickets already. It doesn't matter to them, they simply close it again. That's not really the point. If you join a server, say, from one of your buddies and that server gets raided by trolls cause he posted it publicly and the wrong people see it it's as good as over for your account already. This can happen to any server really, if the mods aren't acting fast enough on it. In some cases it doesn't even matter, since as soon as someone posted such content others already report it, and in most cases that is enough for Discord to automatically ban that server. I'm not mentioning/saying this out of "being treated specially", not at all. It adds a sour taste tho leaving a big sum for a service that will treat you like this and not even care in the end. And yes, I'm aware they may be backlogged, but simply closing tickets half a day later with an automated response is not "backlogged", it's simply not caring.
  9. Heya, Roughly 9 days ago my Discord account was disabled out of nowhere. Meanwhile I have a big suspicion why, but more on that later. Spoiler: It wasn't even my fault. In those 9 days I've opened countless tickets via mail, messaged them dozen of times on Twitter both via DM and Mentions, many other people joined in and also tried to get in touch with someone from Discord including Jerry (Barnacules) but without any success. Furthermore I tried reaching them on FaceBook and Instragram which I already knew wouldn't work but still gave it a try. In those 9 days I've also investigated a bit more, turns out people can mass-ban servers by posting ToS breaking content and mass-reporting the server getting everyone in said server banned in less than an hour and this already happened to countless people on Reddit, Twitter and others telling me so via DMs. This is especially bad for abandoned or not well moderated servers, example when you're in them just for Emojis (like I was). Discord simply goes ahead and disables ALL accounts, without investigating any single cases, and calls it a day. Trying to reach someone to counter that ban simply results in a generic E-Mail by Clyde (their ticket bot) with "We won't reinstate your account". EDIT: Adding details here, Discord also followed me on Twitter. Yesterday, after 4+ years of following me (being one of the 1.100 people or so) they unfollowed. So some human at their team actually did read my stuff, and decided to ignore it and get petty... I'm am/was Admin/Moderator of a Partnered Discord Server (Barnacules), hosted multiple communities myself with combined roughly ~5.000 people, was an almost Day 1 member with an account made back in August 2015 and Nitro Supporter ever since it came out in January 2017. They still don't care whatsoever. I even made 2 videos regarding this, however won't link to them here to not "advertise" anything. At this point I'm simply just a bit pissed, defeated and don't have much energy left to fight anymore... they simply don't seem to care. Not only does that mean I've lost ALL of the contacts I built up over almost 7 years, it also means that all the chat protocols and servers I joined are now gone most likely forever. I've had multiple people with mental health problems I was talking and taking care of on there which are now left in the dark as to where I went, since that account simply just shows me as "Offline". Rant over. Thanks for reading.
  10. Yeah, managed to update the BIOS via a FreeDOS stick now, still no luck with the remote client tho. I'll try another PC now with the same java.security "hacks", hope this works at least... Having to get out the old VGA monitor and plugging a keyboard physically into the server is kinda annoying.
  11. I'm completely stuck here right now... I'm trying to launch the remote management console for iDRAC 6 (old PowerEdge T710 Server) but no matter what I try the client constantly tells me "Connection Failed"... I've already tried disabling SSLv3 in the java.security file, no luck. Updating the firmware to 2.90 (Build 04), aka. the latest available for my server, didn't help either. Only thing quite old is the BIOS which I have no idea how to update, it's on 6.0.7 tho the latest would be 6.6.0, normally you'd do that via the LifeCycle controller and an update option there but I don't have such an option available for some reason and trying to manually update it just fails every time. Anyways, any ideas still on how to get the iDRAC 6 Remote Console working again? Thanks a ton already!
  12. Are we able to get the STLs for this project too? I literally built the same freaking thing a week ago, not kidding, but I wasn't able to design a good enough case for it so I'd love to use the ones you guys made here. PS.: Now hire me huehue :^)
  13. Look at the title, just post clips (timecoded YT videos as example) of Linus dropping things, no matter what. I'll need it for a special something I have in mind. Thanks already!
  14. Bought FloatPlane subscription after checking it out via a friends account to see if it's worth it, it's definitely worth it!
