thats most likely vram overclock related, lower your overclock and if this was with stock speeds (no turbo no thing) then you are easier off RMA'ing the card.

If the side opposite the male thread has a threaded hole then it is the M.2 standoff and there should be a tiny screw that screws into the top of it.

Brett_Bst reacted to Enderman in Is a 2x 1080ti SLI set up "worth it" ? - And - Best performing 1080ti available? Or do I go RTX 2080?
Save up and buy a single powerful GPU.
Wait until 2080/ti benchmarks come out and then decide if you will get a current gen or old gen card.

    SLI is being phased out.
Not only have developers been dropping support on anything other than triple A titles, nvidia has also been removing it from their GPUs.
As Linus always says, it is better to buy a better single GPU.

$450-$500 bucks maybe for a used 1080 founders I'd say. Shoulda sold it a few months ago my man.

Brett_Bst reacted to Christophe Corazza in How much do used 1070’s go for ?
As mentioned above, there are so many variables that come into your play when you try to sell your GPU.
    - How old is it?
    - Where do you live?
    - Are there a lot of people near you selling 1070s?
    - When do you sell? Now? Or wen the new 11 series of GPUs is released?
    - etc.

Choosing a correct price is striking a balance between selling the GPU quickly enough and receiving a decent amount of money for it.

Just get the one that looks best for you. You wont benefit from the more expensive board's materials anyway.

I'd wager that with single fan intake and exhaust, coupled with that GPU... you've got too much heat in the case for the Noctua to handle.  It's getting heat soaked a bit.

That may be part of the issue, but probably not all.

With the case open, put a box fan or other house fan into it so the Noctua gets a whole lot of air and see how it cools the CPU.  That'll give you an idea of the Noctua is doing itsjob and it's the case that's the issue.

Which games? If it’s something like World of Warcraft or Guild Wars 2, you’re going to get significantly better framerates on an 8700K. Both rely heavily on single-thread performance.

On my R5-1600X I overclocked to 4.0 GHz, I could dip to around 30-40 FPS in a 25 man raid in WoW, but on the 8700K I hover around 100 in raids and over 200 or so in most of the world.

Theres more than clock speed going on there. WoW just isn’t optimized well for Ryzen, unfortunately.

Guild Wars 2 ran about as well as it did on my i7-980X at 4.0 GHz as it did on the Ryzen 5, which is to say not that great. I would hit 20 FPS or so in world events.

Other games like Overwatch or Doom were totally fine because they’re well-optimized and love cores/threads, but if single-threaded games are your primary concern, like most MMO’s, you’ll get better performance for your $330 out of the 8700K.

Ryzen is better suited to working rather than gaming.

for Squad I would say go 27 or bigger mate, and 1440p for sure.

I' not an ultrawide fan myself, and use a 32 1440p 16:9 screen and it's fantastic for Squad or similar games.
