Some modern vehicles have auto sensing headlights.  They stay in high beam until a sensor picks up another vehicle and then dims them to low beams.  These systems don't always work well and they leave the high beams on.  Quite a few of the higher end GM products have it as a standard feature.

Frankly, what data would they have about you?  How large your TV is?  Where you put your Lamborghini keys so someone can come steal them?  How messy your living room is?  That you eat Doritos for dinner, so they're going to sell this information to ad agencies?

Yes, I work with people who are paranoid as fuck and listen to that brainwashing shit all the time.  Democrats eat babies, election was stolen, earth is flat, tap water has mind control drugs in it, etc.  Sounds like healthy paranoia at first but stepping back it's just worrying over nothing.

I don't think the thread is a train wreck... I think it's important to discuss things and demystify them. Because as you say, people DO get labelled by the number and people's expectations can be way off course and genuine hurt can and does happen, when those bars get missed. So conversation which demystifies the whole thing, throws it out in the open and shows IQ as not being some form of holy grail, is a good thing, I believe.
