  1. Same here; too bad it's discontinued from OnePlus's website
  2. I'm on Verizon, in the US (no sub carrier or anything), and I need to upgrade from my Moto Z Play 1. OnePlus 7 Pro looks like the best option, but I cannot find where to buy one. All the options I see on Amazon are GSM, international only, etc. I see conflicting information online about whether the phone will or will not work on Verizon, and came across several articles stating that there are significant calling issues when registering with Verizon. Can anyone advise on where to buy this phone in a way that I won't have compatibility issues? Thank you in advance EDIT: Thank you all for the advice; couldn't find a reasonable option that I was sure of, so I went ahead and just ordered a Pixel 3A (my other choice). waiting wasn't really an option, and switching carriers wasn't an option either. Maybe when OnePlus launches the 8 (no notch PLEEEEEAAASE) then I'll sell the Pixel and grab that.
  3. Nah, my boss is super cool; office pranks are common place. Our team lead would occasionally hide sticky notes in my boss's office with his name on it and then one day he filled every spot in the office with sticky notes. all good fun. he's still a team lead
  4. Removing the prank since some of you all are concerned. Appreciate the worrying; I promise I would have not have done it if my team, boss, and workplace were not comfortable with this. However, to avoid being disruptive, I'm stopping the prank and removing the post.
  5. Solved! thanks to @mr_scary from the Discord, who suggested that I update the BIOS again. I flashed it to F22a, and BOOM! all memory modules detected. 16GB in the taskmgr.
  6. So I reseated all my modules. Booted with just 2 (on channel 1), 8GB detected Booted with the other 2 (on channel 2), 8GB detected Booted with all 4 modules, only 8 GB detected Looking for the CMOS battery on my Motherboard now. Spamming the reset button had no change
  7. Thank you! I will remember this next time; I got in by unplugging the 3rd display
  8. I hope not I was careful but accidents can happen BIOS sees the 16 GB though
  9. I can't get into the BIOS. I restart or cold boot, spam delete on my keyboard, and i get no display output Nevermind just got in. Had to unplug the 3rd display
  10. I ran a BIOS update before swapping CPUs. RAM still showed up after said BIOS update.
  11. Solved! thanks to @mr_scary from the Discord, who suggested that I update the BIOS again. I flashed it to F22a, and BOOM! all memory modules detected. 16GB in the taskmgr. Thank you to every for the help! I just swapped out my i5-6500 for a new i7-7700k in my gigabyte GA-Z170XP MB (BIOS updated to F21 prior to upgrade, board is dual channel). I have 4 DIMMs of 4GB Gskill DDR4 modules (16 total) that showed up just fine before, but now, only 8GB shows up in windows (task mgr, resource mgr, dx diag). But the full 16gb shows up in the BIOS. I did have to re-seat one of the modules to get my CPU cooler back on, but i'm 99% sure I did that correctly. I do not believe I overtightened the CPU cooler. I have a 600W PSU, and a GTX1060 6GB. I doubt it's a power draw issue, but let me know if I'm wrong. I have reseated and tested all modules and slots. DIMMs 1 & 2 in slots 1 and 3 yields 8GB. DIMMs 3 & 4 in slots 2 & 4 also yields 8GB. A single module in any slot yields 4GB. All modules populated yields 16GB in BIOS, 8GB in Windows. Memory modules are all the same model (purchases in 2 pairs at 2 different times). Windows diagnostic test saw no memory issues. Please let me know if I need to provide more data EDIT: NEW DATA: So, after heavy googling, I ran the following commands in cmd: wmic computersystem get totalphysicalmemory wmic memphysical get MaxCapacity, MemoryDevices the first one gave me 8543264768 (~8.5 GB) the second gave me 67108864 for "Max Capacity" and 4 for Memory Devices. Does this mean windows knows I have 4 memory modules but for some reason only accesses 8GB of it?
  12. I'm hoping it will last me awhile as well, especially since most of what I play is either stuff that's CPU-bound (RTS games) or some heavy modding on older titles. Also, yes, I'm going to sell the 6500. Still works just fine.
  13. I really had no interest in the additional work involved in getting a new motherboard and new CPU. The benchmarks on an i5-6500 vs an i7-7700k are fairly far apart. Also, I asked this same forum months ago which one i should upgrade to, and 7700k came out to be the winner. But who knows, we will find out tomorrow how wrong i am I do have a big enough case; still didn't feel like doing it. I did build it the PC, but thanks for the video. Will help me not screw up the SSD cables like I did the first time. Not reinstalling windows today. I've adjusted too much and don't feel like starting fresh This is what i'm doing for the BIOS upgrade
