The satellite transmitter gizmo is SO MUCH WEIR…

To me it looks like an early satellite TV receiver... Yknow the kind that used to be hooked up to 2-3 metre dishes

AHH AM2... I just knew it wasn't AM4 or AM5 as I have handled both of those recently... It's been a long time since I even handled AM3+ tbh.

Technically that's true for most flights, successful or not.

I love the implication that not all flights have/will touch(ed) the ground

Ahhhhh... snark. The beauty of a simple statement to be literally true, technically true, actually true, and inciteful at the same time 🤣

Important update regarding the folding team.. O…

I mean they do, but you can't create a custom dataset, so we use a script to parse the master file, which is a CSV of every single user, that contains username, team, work unit count and total points. Then with some Google docs math we work out daily activity

Important update regarding the folding team.. O…

I mean... The way we handle data is still largely manual so it would require someone pulling the data every hour to track it that way, I don't have the time or inclination to automate it because the amount of time that would be required to learn the skills far outweigh the time it takes to just manually process the data once a day. With that said, if anyone wants to help out with automating the process, my inbox is always open

Important update regarding the folding team.. O…

It's a balancing act of making sure people are actually trying to compete but also including as many people as possible. But I think a 10-generation-old CPU is a little too lenient when you consider the advances in performance in that decade+

Important update regarding the folding team.. O…

Yeah, generally the min requirements could be met by a quadcore from 4th gen intel or better folding 24/7. Although it is likely I will increase them this year for the first time in 3 or 4 years

Important update regarding the folding team.. O…

Seeing as the prizes we offer are always a random raffle of all people who meet the very-low participation requirements, you could be in first or 1000th and have just as much a chance of winning a prize
  18. GOTSpectrum

    Oh fuck. Comic Sans again?

No I agree, you need to relax, it's a yearly thing on the forum, we get used to it. I'm sure there are any number of plug ins that would let you force your own font if you care that much
  19. Important update regarding the folding team..

Over the last 6 years I've hosted many events and given away probably approaching 100k in prizes. And it's been an incredible ride, seeing you all push ever harder, produce ever increasing point totals has been the highlight of my life. But unfortunately it's time for me to step down.

They always say you should leave on a high and I think the time is right to retire and move onto running a different team. It's been incredible all and I am really humbled by all of your guy's support over the years.

    Happy folding,
