Neural networks as fast as possible please.

There is also a significant difference in finding a few errors in 200-500 pages of books or finding multiple errors in a 2 minute video. I mean the content of most TQs can fit snugly on 1 or 2 pages.

Don't get me wrong - The relatively low amount of information is not bad, just the relationship of information to errors is.

Again, these are not minor errors. These are fundamental misunderstandings of how not just VPNs and MAC addresses work, but networking as a whole.
Someone watching that VPN video will not understand how a VPN works, not even on a basic level. In fact, they will have a great misunderstanding of how they work. The same can be said for the MAC address video, and possibly other videos as well.

These are errors as big as saying "cars drive on the road because the road transfers energy into the car, which makes it go forward or backwards". The concept might not be wrong per se, cars do drive on roads. However, the reason why and how it works are completely wrong and it can lead people to jump to several wrong conclusions down the line too.

What's an even bigger problem is that their viewers doesn't know any better, so it becomes a case of the blind leading the blind. Linus doesn't have any idea what he is talking about, neither does his writers, but his viewers don't understand it either (hence why they are watching these educational videos to begin with, to learn).

Shouldn't someone working as an educator strive to actually provide correct information? I believe Linus' viewers deserve better than these videos which I can frankly not describe as anything but garbage as far as the educational value goes.

Wow, I thought it was just me...

I get that tech-journalism (or journalism in general) is hard, and you can't expect journalists to know everything, because if they did have that kind of insight, they would work significantly different jobs.

But the constant attempt to appear knowledgeable while they actually have no clue is a problem.

The problem is the half-truths and (incorrect) deductions based on other journalists and other non-peer-reviewed material, instead of reading the actual sources.

    I appreciate your suggestions.

However, I'd like to quickly speak on this as I've had this suggestion pop up more than once.

As long as I'm running Techquickie, we're not going to touch anything like this.

You're asking us to advocate for one side of a complicated sociopolitical issue people have very strong feelings about in both directions.

The few times we've covered anything that could be taken as remotely related to politics, we've taken great pains to be as even-handed as possible - see, for example, our video on net neutrality.

The closest we've come to something like this is our episode on cyberbullying, which we were extremely careful to present in a factual, data-driven manner, instead of coming across as lecturing our viewers about how to treat people online.

It was difficult enough coming up with a way to cover the GENERAL phenomenon of people being horrible to each other irrespective of race, gender, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, etc etc while keeping things neutral and evidence-based. Advocating for a specific group, by contrast, is even more difficult to the point where I consider it an absolute minefield.

I have my own personal feelings on this matter, but other than saying I don't condone harassment of anyone online (or off), I'm not sharing them and in this case they're irrelevant anyway as taking sides on issues like this is, in my view, a bad idea for most YouTubers, especially those who don't comment on or poke fun at larger societal issues as part of the core of who they are.

Regarding the last bit of your quote, if someone actually needs to be told not to be a jerk on the Internet, a video from us isn't going to convince them.

Thanks to all who have suggested topics. Keep them coming, I do read them and I've seen some good ones.

    "Misused Technology Terms"

    How about
"Quantum Leap" "Headphones" vs. "Headset" (also "in-ear" vs. "earphones") "Authentication" vs. "Authorisation" "Window" (Frame) vs. "Application" vs. "OS" vs. "PC" X "Crash" vs. "Freeze" vs. "Error message" vs. "Incorrect behaviour" People talk/write about every possible permutation while they actually may mean any other possible permutation

Perfect, thank you! I was looking exactly for such information, and was totally irritated by Intel's marketing material, since it implies that "Optane" drives would not work at all on anything other than Kaby lake processors (but still run on NVMe?).
