Pretty much any 12th or 13th gen i7 should do the trick for cpu, idk how important a discrete gpu for cad but if he can do without it should improve battery life a bit. over half of the engineers at my school are running xps 15's so that might be a good product line to look at

imo you should just replace it, but if you must keep it ur only real option is a 1650

the gigabyte website says it does but it might still work without it just at a much lower power setting. if i have the wrong part number and it doesnt have one it will probably run fine just upgrade that psu at some point

I kinda want to see a Cisco cat 9400 or some equivalent from another brand rather than a shit ton of Ubiquiti switches like we have been seeing lately. Probably gonna come down to sponsors tho
