  1. Yeah, it had to be on a certified list or it didn't boot.
  2. Summary Dell has decided to use proprietary ram modules in their new laptops for DDR5. Renaming it to the CAMM system to save weight and money but also locking you into their platform. Quotes My thoughts Dell hasn't been one for compatible modules when it comes to upgrading the hardware from them but this is a step too far especially with the push to right to repair. 3. So I managed to acquire quite a unique case similar to the one Linus built in the sleeper series called hubert. So the plan is to upgrade this case so that I can use it for eSports events up and down the UK whilst keeping the retro / sleeper look. I am currently half way through the project. A new front panel setup has been installed replacing the old USB and FireWire ports for 4 USB 3.0 gen 1 ports. Also had all new barrels fitted so the old locking mechanism works again. But the main focus of this project is to rebuild the front plate of the case to hold a triple radiator configuration with enough vent holes to cover cooling the hardware. Cutting out part of the front plate was a pain but doable with an angle grinder. To ensure that there is enough strength, I have used 1mm thick steel plating to reinforce the .5mm thick steel of the original plate. Was a pain to fit and secure correctly but is now ready to mark out the new fan positions then drill them out. The only things left to do is save up enough to get some killer hardware in there and give the inside a fresh coat of paint. Just need a name to suit it!
  4. Just seen this on Social media: Looks like a RAF is starting to push more into supporting its people into developing software skills. Also supporting a project for the public to use in tracking santa across the world. Definitely a good thing with them embracing open-source software!
  5. Video Suggestion. What about a Game showdown between Linus Media Group and the RAF Gamers Network but talking about and using the Secure Reliable Transport Protocol to get each person's POV whilst gaming into OBS to stream to Twitch or YouTube?
  6. I run in OBS over the internet, normally around 250 miles between the PCs, I have the caller set at srt://ServerIP:Port with the listener set at srt://ServerIP:Port?mode=listener. Experienced no issues like that but have OBS network buffers set to 0MB. Haven't attempted adding a latency to the address, maybe something to try. Measuring Latency in stream delay on preview from time stream received to what's actually happening to happen.
  7. Just wondering if anyone has ever used SRT for input streaming on OBS? I've got it to work with the input source but struggling to get the latency delay down. Anyone got any advice to getting it down to around 2-3s delay.
  8. Having some game issues, game screens keep going black intermittently despite drivers and windows being fully up to date. Sometimes a PC restart fixes it, sometimes playing around with settings in Nvida CP fixes it (generally any change applied). Any idea what could be causing this?
  9. Normal temps, I get similar temps at idle with water cooling my Intel i3-9100F.
  10. You can modify the existing fans with resistors (Try a 47 or 22 Ohm resistor) to limit the amount of current. You will suffer a cooling penalty but will make them quieter. Better solution to replace the fan with aftermarket 40mm Fans, but make sure you save the old fan connectors to solder across so you can plug them and control them still on the motherboard.
  11. Has anyone ever tried modding a old server case for a sleeper pc?
