  1. I ran Driver Booster 5 the steam version and everything seems ok so far. There are no drivers on the Asus website for my Maximus VII Hero newer then like 2015. Worse case scenario I roll back the changes.
  2. That what I was always wondering. How do I know device manager is installing the right drivers. I’m a little sceptical about driver updating software.
  3. Ive always wondered about something. My motherboard is old so Asus doesnt have any new drivers for it. Does updating drivers in device manager install the right ones? I read somewhere that it may be installing Windows 8 drivers even if you are on Windows 10. Upon a clean install of Win 10 should I just install the couple old drivers on the Asus website and leave everything in device manager alone?
  4. I got a Windows update late last night and everything seems to be running better so far. Thanks for all your help and input.
  5. 32GB, its been in for over a year and it passed all tests. Ram is not the issue as these just started late December.
  6. I have a clean install as of yesterday and still the same issues. Windows update 1709 was my latest one but it gave me an error code upon downloading. Im not sure if it installed but win update says my PC is up to date.
  7. I don’t know where to start but basically Windows 10 is a total nightmare now. The whole OS freezes up and I have to hard reboot. The start menu bugs out and everything that should be there disappears. Performance has slowed to a crawl. I’m wondering if this has anything to do with Spectre/Meltdown. My PC is basically pointless to use as I can’t get much done before windows freezes up. It is old but it still runs games great. I cant afford to upgrade yet. It cant be a dying HDD or SSD because my Samsung 850 Pro 256gb is not even a year old and I secure erased it before I reinstalled two days ago. Does anyone else have similar issues?
  8. Thanks I think its simple, not too flashy and looks much better now with the black and red cable mod kit.
  9. That lightbox is interesting but only RGB is available.
  10. Anybody have any creative ways to cover the Hard Drives in an Air 540. I looked at V1Tech but I live in Canada and the exchange rate isn't in my favour.
  11. I saw that but the problem is I cant decide between the black or white bars. I made this post to get peoples opinion on black or white or two black and two white
