  1. Well, I guess I'll have to try if it works properly before making any decision (sell, buy, keep, etc.)... Thank you for the info.
  2. Yes, I guess I'll have to try, but I really want it to work at XMP speeds. It is, sadly. I have already stretched my budget as far as I could, so the K5 is my ceiling right now. Anyway, BIOS issues are only a matter of time, so thank you for helping me out with these questions.
  3. Okay, thank you. Just one more question (if you can help me)...
  4. I didn't know that ... It's not listed, dammit. I hope it works, at least at tested speeds (defaults are just 2.1GHz), otherwise I'll have to buy a new one. But, what about overclocking? Is Gigabyte AM4 BIOS mature enough now to provide comfortable stability?
  5. Well, I have this RAM (https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3000c16d-16gisb) from my current (now ex) Kaby Lake PC, but I just sold both motherboard and CPU to give Ryzen a shot. Now I'm wondering if it would work with this new mobo (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AX370-Gaming-K5-rev-10#kf), just because I read about a few RAM issues with Ryzen. Also, I want to know if I could overclock it, at least a little bit.
  6. Oh, okay, so it's nothing too serious (at least not as it was at launch ). Also, I have two sticks of DDR4 RAM lying around, it's a G.Skill Aegis 2x8GB @3GHz kit, will it work with any of those motherboards I mentioned? I don't think that promo is available here, in Argentina. Anyway, the Gigabyte looks quite better (in my opinion), it has RGB!!! ?...
  7. So, does anyone know if new AM4 BIOS got better? Are they providing more OC performance/stability?
  8. Yes, I won't do anything too extreme, so I guess it would be okay, but will RGB increase my FPS?
  9. Yes, the Gigabyte looks way better, but I just noticed the MSI has more chokes around the CPU (10 vs. 7), does that affect OC performance/stability? I read something about that...
  10. I've been keeping an eye on the MSI X370 Gaming Pro (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/X370-GAMING-PRO.html#productFeature-section) to build a Ryzen PC, but I just found the Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming K5 (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AX370-Gaming-K5-rev-10#kf) which seems to have more features for only a $15-20 difference so, is the extra investment worth it? Also, another thing I'm wondering right now is about AM4 BIOS, are they mature enough for OC now? Since I read they were a total mess at launch. Anyway, thanks in advance.
  11. That motherboard isn't AM4, so it won't support any Ryzen CPU.
  12. Well, as soon as I find a custom one relatively cheap... Thank you.
  13. Maybe, but just if I can sell my things for a reasonable price and if RXs are available again by then.
  14. So, the thing is that a 1070 is too much for me (right now) and the used market is too poor here, in Argentina (compared with US, Canada and EU). My mind is a complete mess, I have no idea about what to do ...
  15. Also, I'm worried about upgradeability, since AM4 is a newborn socket and LGA1151 is 2 years old and I read there won't be more lineups for it, I plan to keep my PC for 4 years min.
