    Anime tends to be very progressive. What I'd like to know is how old he is. Is he a new GL or is he like 40 y.o.? 

     

    Unfortunately I went to the Ilex Forest before facing Bugsy, so my initial thought was that the woodcutter was the Gym Leader...
