I just purchased a samsung u28590d but cant hear any sound. The playback device is set to the monitor's speakers yet there is no sound ooutput.

I'm planning on ordering a new 4K monitor in the next couple days and have whittled it done to these two. I will use it primarily for gaming. I have heard these two monitors are great but am having difficulty choosing one over the other.

Gtx 970. I can probably handle 2k( I don't mind turning down some settings)

Greetings, I am interested in upgrading my honestly terrible current monitor( 1280x720, 17") to something more usable. A 2560x1440 resolution 27" plus is what I'm thinking about. My budget is around £300 but I could push it up a little. Any suggestions would be very welcome.
