LpoolTech reacted to Lebon14 in THANK YOU NVIDIA!! - RTX 4060 Ti Review
I think LTT does not put enough emphasis on how much this card sucks. Stop staying polite and say it out loud: YOUR CARD FUCKING SUCKS. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS, NVIDIA? (bleeps are ok, still get the message across) Polite words won't be enough anymore. You need to put the outrage out there. The title is most probably sarcasm (at the time of writing "THANK YOU NVIDIA!! RTX 4060Ti Review") but some people would only see the title and thumbnail and might think of a positive review. I know there are references to other cards being better investments at the end... but still, I stand by my point that there is a HUGE lack of dunking on nvdia.

Also linus's face in the thumbnail reminds me of the Jebaited emote from Twitch. I doubt that was intentional.

Samsung can be such a hit or miss with their warranty, I've been lucky and unlucky dealing with them, thank f^&k for amazon customer service who always dealt with whatever Samsung wouldn't. Is there a chance you bought it form Amazon? if so give them a call and explain the situation, they will sort you out

the case is also whisper quiet with massive airflow due to the included fans which are also a high quality not some cheap off the shelf included item.

Do you really need the best of the best cooling? I honestly am having a hard time recommending AIOs nowadays due to how hit and miss they can be when it comes to quality. If you need the best cooling, Arctic Liquid Freezer 2 gets my vote. Otherwise, NH-D15 is what I would recommend.

Little update: I got my friend to bring over his Elgato wave: 3 mic. And that one is clear when testing, and does not cut out. So.. I'm guessing its some kind of "feature" or whatever that is build into that arctis 5 headset. That i apparently cannot turn off??

So yeah.. I will look into either getting the same mic as him, or find another one.

I will mark this as my solution, but if anyone knows how to fix the arctis one.. Then please let me/others know 🙂

For $400-600, you have the ability to do a complete upgrade of the whole system. Prices have gotten pretty good for a lot of components.

Here's a complete platform upgrade to AM4 including power supply:

    PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rHtNTn
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 3.4 GHz 8-Core Processor  ($234.98 @ Newegg)

This gives you an 8 core 16 thread Zen 3 CPU, 32GB of DDR-3600 RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD.

If your powers supply is already good quality, then you could go with Intel 13th gen, although you don't get overclocking support, as I couldn't also fit a Z series motherboard in that budget:

Pretty much what we know is that Ray tracing is purely going to be a NVIDIA Thing. If you want to play games without raytracing, you can buy AMD without issue. Ray tracing will be a NVIDIA stat for the next few generations until it becomes a mute point then its on to the next graphical gimmick to make people buy into.

Is there a particular reason why you want ray tracing other then for the "Because i can" Do you think you will enjoy it? Its one of those things that makes some games look amazing but tanks performance.

Dont pay 1000$ for a fucking 3080 at this point, they are going for 500$ on ebay and hardware swap. 3090s are going for 650+, if you take care of them they will last you years. Dont buy new cards that are 2 years old for a price like that lol.

LpoolTech reacted to h45h74x in Labs branding idea
    Hi there,

whilst reading up on transistors a few days ago, I had an idea for the "LTT Labs" branding:

    > TTL <

TTL means "Transistor-Transistor Logic" (for defining transistor logic families) or "Time To Live" (used for data packets, for example in networks) in a technology context. Whilst the acronym TTL would already be a great name for the labs website, as it's LTT spelled backwards and could be written as "Tech Tips Labs", "Time to Live" seems to be the perfect name for a website examining products and hosting reviews.

    What do you guys think?

If you go DDR4 instead you could probably get a 3080, which is more worth it than DDR5.

Could also get a cheaper board, usually MSI B660 Pro A or Gigabyte Gaming X is a good value option.

SSD is generally overpriced for what it is.

i would believe that i am lucky if not for the fact pretty much everyone around me were doing the same thing. Like i said, it can be pull off if you just do it. Why is medicaid from my parents a luck when only and any low income household qualified for these? Why is $30 a week on food is such a big deal when nowadays people literally overeat to obesity and the problem is most prevalent among the lowest income household? Why is staff meals, free or heavily subsidized, in a resturant such a big deal when it is a common perks? why is phone bills paid by my parents such a big deal when i couldve easily gotten a prepaid phone plan with the cost that is what an average low income household spent on their weekly coffee? Why do you think a young and healthly college age 18-22 years old without any dependents would have any emergency whatseover if they could avoid reckless behaviors for 4 years? Why is summer job for limited time consider a luck when majority of the college students work a seasonal jobs or internships in some form or another? Why do you think something that is ordinary is somehow extradionary? why do you believe I or anyone of similar background and socio-economic status but somehow archieve upward mobility just happend to magically have higher innate luck compare to others in the same situations? The only thing i am lucky and grateful for is moving away from a low income country. That is a very low bar luck for you who are already borne in a first world country.

Long Island Stony Brook back when I was attending university(you can deduce what university I went to). Rented a shitty one room in a house with a dozen roommate that costs $700 a month. Student part time job pays me $200 per week after taxes in the year 2019-2020 to work in the university cafeteria. I worked roughly 20 hours a week. College tuition completely free thanks to pell grant and with New York State TAP and the fact in state student automatically gets 50% discount on their tuition for public university. Grant exceeds yearly tuition and cost meaning roughly $1k refund from the grant per year into my checking account.

Spent $30 bucks a week on food thanks to the fact my workplace provide meal vouchers to student employees and the fact that employees can also cook meal free during shift.

During summer and winter I work full time waiting table bringing in roughly 3-4k after taxes depending on the tips I get, working a backbreaking 74 hours a week. That is 3 months per year so 9k plus my part time student job.

expenses is 700+4*30=820 monthly. Didn’t drive, I bike around. Health insurance free thanks to parent Medicaid plan. Insurance Internet water and utility all included in rent(like I said it was a shitty one small room with like 12 roommates living in the house). Phone bill is only thing cover by my parents thanks to single family plan discount. You do the math.

graduated without debt and 10k to my name with just a so so gpa. Major in computer science. Low $100k+ compensation straight out of school although New York City is an expensive city to live. I still live with a roommate and bike around.

like I said, it is possible. Even more possible if you go to community college or just applied for excelsior scholarships which is full ride in New York State for anyone whose household income is below $125k a year.

Only 40% of students take out loans in the United States btw.

like I said, very possible. You can keep listening to the narrative that this is impossible, only privileged can do it, yada yada. I just don’t buy it. Btw, I came from third world country which should statistically made me a bottom 50% at the minimum. You just need to do risk management like avoid excessive spending, drugs, alcohol and other risky behaviors like unprotected sex. If you are truly unfortunate i.e. ran over by a car then yeah, it will set you back years if not decades but my philosophy is always that if there is a will, there is a way.

Well, the key is to stay out of prison and not to impregnate someone or be impregnated until you are ready. Really, studies have shown that is all you need to do to be in the middle class. Without dependents, you have all the time and resources to do what you need to better your financial future. you dont even need expensive schooling to make it.

Well I can pretty well do a review for lower cost projectors for you, theyre almost all pretty crap and absolutely not worth the extra effort and expense(screen for viewing, mounting, etc) over buying a midrange TV that costs like…$500 and is up and running 100% about 10 minutes after you take it out of the box.

Lots of people are actually extremely interested in soundbars, PC Richard(at least the ones near my house) dont even carry traditional surround sound setups anymore, they only deal in soundbars as thats what the vast majority of people go with these days.  $2000 might seem like a lot to a 20 year old in college, but those 20 year olds also at the ones who tell their parents what to look at when they are buying things, or the 25 year old IT professional making suggestions for media setups in a business or school.  As much as you want to say “No one who watches LTT can buy these things” clearly the marketing and sales departments of these companies disagree.  LTT videos average around 1.5 million views.  If the target market for those products is the top 5% of people then thats a potential 75,000 buyers watching that video, probably pretty good return for the cost of a sponsored video.

The junk challenges dropped off in popularity, thats one of the reasons they stopped doing them(that and the second hand market going absolutely insane, scrapyard wards with a $4000 budget so you can buy a graphics card probably wouldn’t be as popular) If you want to see more of those then I would encourage people to go rewatch them, if there is a large consistent spike in the popularity of those videos then they’ll probably make a return when the used market gets back to something reasonable. But probably not gonna happen.

As for your question about the intel upgrades, pretty clearly you at the minimum have to buy an intel processor for the upgrade and no you can’t buy an AMD processor.  It’s a sponsored video by intel, they can dictate that.  When Ford pays people to do sponsored content they probably include a clause that says you have to use a ford vehicle and would be pretty pissed if you turned around and brought out a tesla for the sponsored segment.  As for being able to turn it down?  I guess that would depend on the contract you have with LTT.  If your contract stipulates you must appear in videos and part of that is doing sponsored content then you might not have a choice.  However from what several people as well as Linus have said no one in the office is required to be on video if they dont want to(beyond candid type stuff when they walk through the writers room or something like that) and I’m pretty sure that to get an upgrade you had to put your name into the hat…so you’d be absolutely welcome to stand on your principles and not accept an upgrade, im sure plenty of people would be happy for the increased chance for them to receive one.

Ultimately man, none of this really matters.  If you dont like the content, dont watch the content.  There is so much out there that I’m sure you can find plenty to enjoy.  Mostly this is starting to sound like a “I demand other people dislike what I dislike!” Either that or you really enjoy the style and presentation of LTT and are just upset that they aren’t directly catering to your interests the majority of the time.  Either way, just stop watching.  You’ll be right or wrong completely separate from your own actions, and just like being allowed to opt out of the Upgrade videos.  No one really will ever care about you not watching videos, unless you try to make that a personality trait that you are proud of…then theyll care…just probably not how you hope.
