So, to go along with both the meet up with new people and who’s bringing their switch option, who’s all on Pokémon GO still? With this many nerds I bet we can meetup for a quick raid hour in between the rest of the nerdiness and gaming!

You should get faster RAM because Ryzen performs better or worse depending on the RAM speeds.

Go with AM4 and Ryzen 5
You also get a cooler with the cpu which is good enough for stock speeds and even some small overclocking and if you want to push it all the way to 3.9..4 ghz and you're not happy with the stock cooler performance, you can always buy later a better cooler.
The motherboards are also cheaper, around 75$ for basic b350 chipset motherboards, around 90-100$ for boards that are very good for overclocking. Boards for 8400 start now from around 120$ and they're way basic-er compared to amd boards (few usb ports, no m.2 , very light).
You can take the money and put it towards better video card.

As for streaming, if you have a modern video card like RX series or GTX 1060 and higher, you can use the hardware encoders on the video cards to encode and stream, so your processor won't be used for encoding (except for encoding the audio, which won't use a lot of processor time).
OBS and XSplit both know to encode using you video card or your processor, it's up to you how you want to stream.

You can encode with your processor and it will give you better quality compared to encoding with your video card but for some games it doesn't matter much. You'd also want to encode with your processor if you have really low internet speeds, for example if you have to stream using only 2-3 mbps for that 720p stream - encoding with your processor will help retain more quality in that low amount of bitrate, hardware encoders in video cards need more bits to encode content but they do it fast and without using the processor.

Foiled Kongu reacted to spartaman64 in Tesla autopilot update
The update will allow the car to perpendicularly park on its own. It also gets rid of the speed cap on autosteer and make it smoother. It uses hardware that tesla have been adding to their cars since october 2016. New teslas have 8 cameras providing 360 degree coverage for 250 meters. Better processing with the radar sensor allows it to see through rain, fog, dust, and even another car. The 12 ultrasonic sensors were updated to sense hard and soft objects at twice the original distance. The new cars are using nvidia's drive px2 that has 40 times the computing power of the previous computer system.  Elon musk says by the end of 2017 teslas will be fully autonomous.
A government report found that the first generation autopilot system reduced crash rates for tesla cars by 40%.

    Source: http://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-enhanced-autopilot-system-self-driving-features-2017-6/#all-of-this-means-that-if-you-order-a-new-tesla-today-you-could-feasibly-have-a-fully-self-driving-car-pending-regulatory-approval-until-then-youre-getting-a-host-of-advanced-autopilot-features-15

When tesla first release autopilot they recieved lots of criticism with people saying that it is not ready and it will endanger people but the results are quite the opposite as there was a substantial decrease in crashes. At the beginning every time there was a crash while a tesla was on autopilot it is seized upon as proof of how unsafe autopilot is but it seems to me now that was just confirmation bias. Self driving cars have long been theorized to decrease car accidents but there have been lots of resistance from people who are skeptical of that saying computers can have errors etc but we are now recieving proof of that theory and that humans make errors more than computers.

Game and dedicated servers are the same thing. In a fair amount of online multiplayer games, players can host their own servers on their computers. This takes some performance away from your game, so it's really nice to have a separate computer to host the server for you.
Home servers are the same kind of idea. They're basically computers on your network that act as network storage, or a NAS (Network Attached Storage). Any other computer or device with permission can access these files and it's a nice way to offload some files on your personal computer's hard drive to somewhere everyone at home can access them, if you want.
Using your old computer can do both of these at once, BTW.
