  1. I was about to upgrade my graphic card (4870X2 Sapphire) and googled and youtubed to look for different reviews about different cards. Found NCIX tips, and linked the youtube site directly to my brother and several friends, who are now proud owners of LTT Shirts. I'm subbed for life!
  2. How come i've seen people get this chip stable at like 4.5 an such then? Well, the thing is, i usually play some World of Warcraft and some BF4, and in WoW the cpu can't handle that gamle on ultra and strugles on high settings.. I have a Crossfire setup 7970 and a R9-280x.. Why does it strugle?
  3. That is true, but i can't set the multiplier any higher than 43 in the BIOS. So, i can't clock any higher it seems..
  4. Hi, I am now running 4,3ghz @1.35V I have seen many other people take this thing higher than that, how can i enable so that the cpu will clock higher than 43 ( which is the limit )
  5. Ok, set the multiplier to 43, 1.35V, locked the BCLK to 100. And it booted right up. But, how did i manage to get 4,4Ghz last time? When this CPU has a locked multiplier at 43? I shall prime it tonight, see if its stable.. I think i can lower the Volts more.. After 15 mins of prime i didn't get higher than 77.. And that is okay. I don't want to go over 80C.. But.. Should i enable Turbo mode? or should i not?.. Some say i should and others say not..
  6. Oh, why is that? Shouldn't that increese with the clock speed?
  7. Oh, i did not know that.. Thanks for clearing that up! So ill just start at 1.3 then? and work my way slowly up?
  8. Oh, i'm sorry for not mentioning anything about that.. 1x Asus Radeon Matrix Platinum R9-280X 1x Asus Radeon 7970 DirectCU II In Crossfire.. 12gb of Kingston HyperX 1866mhz ram And a Corsair HX850W PSU
  9. Hi, i tried searching for some relevant info regarding this, but couldn't seem to find one, so made this post. As Topic says, i'm running an Intel i7-3820 on a Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3 Motherboard. At first, i just oc`ed it with EasyTune6, stage 2 @4.08, BCLK 102Mhz. But i start noticing that people around the web with the same cpu, got better clock. So i tried it out. Went on to youtube, found a guy with same chip and same line of MB as me, and copy hes BIOS settings. 4.4Ghz @ 1.4v, was acheived (turbo mode enabled) seemed stable after 4-5 hours of prime95. ( i did not check the temps unfortunately, which was stupid of me ) I then tried gaming some BF4 and WoW, just to see if i could see any difference. In WoW(world of warcraft) I didn't notice a thing difference, and that game is very CPU demanding (so i've heard).. In BF4 i noticed that some of the few lag spikes that i've had earlier didn't accour.. But when i logged back out and noticed the temps @ 91C! (this is with a Kraken x60 and 2x Noctua fans set to push, in an NZXT H630 Case) i paniced and reset the BIOS back to default, and i haven't touched it after that. (now at stock speed)... So.. I guess i pushed to much Volt at the chip, but the system was stable, didn't experience any errors or bluescreens at all, but 91C with a Kraken x60?? Like, that is WAY out of my comfort zone.. I guess what i'm asking is, did i run to much Volt for the assigned clock speed? what should my stable OC (aim) be with this chip and with this setup.? Best regards - Tee_k
  10. I've been using Bose headphones for a while now and really happy with it. I'm currently testing: AKG 240 MKII
  11. Fair point. Gonna buy a new case with better airflow soon, just trying to decide what to go for,.
  12. I see he moved the P14 fan down quite a bit? So the fan can cool the heat pipes at the bottom better. Mine is mounted rather high compared to him.
  13. Ok, thanks. Luckily for me i'm not to focused on how thing looks, but how it works. I was just curious if it would make a difference. I have my 3820 at 4.0ghz so nothing crazy. I guess i'll just put it inn like it is then. Thanks for the quick answer!
