Yesterday my pc's fans started going full speed despite the pc being idle so I looked at my temperatures using NZXT CAM and it hit 94°C while usage was at 4% so I quickly shut it down. After maybe 2 minutes I turned it back on and got "CPU temperature error" I pressed F1 to run setup and got to the BIOS. While in the BIOS my CPU temperatures started rising with about 1-2 °C per second, I turned it off before it hit 90°C. After having it turned off over night I booted up and got to windows but it didn't take long before the fans started speeding up and the temps hitting 98°C with 6% usage, so I shut it down. I have had it turned on a few times throughout the day but all with the same result.
I built my pc (first time) in July 2016 and haven't had any issues at all, till now.
The cooler is connected to water pump and not CPU fan (I have tried connecting the cooler to CPU fan but with the same result), my normal temps are at 24°C to 66°C depending on usage.
I am not using Corsair Link for the cooler as I found that the fans got too loud (even after adjusting fan curves) while it was installed.
I have ordered some Noctua NT-H1 thermalpaste so will reinstall the cooler with fresh thermalpaste when it arrives.
This is my first time ever using a forum so I have no idea what I'm doing, hope it was posted correctly
