  1. AlexTheGreatish, Umang Goel Thank you for sharing the knowledge and advice of Dell XPS 15. I just watched the review of Dell XPS 15 by LTT. Indeed it sounds great. I do question how bad is the speakers. 100 Adobe RGB coverage was recommended, is it assuming I use Adobe products? "4K display has the best gamut as of now", can I assume that to product 4K display, the gamut need to be much higher that a non-4K display? Thank you once again.
  2. I'm trying to look for a laptop for photo editing and I know the display is important. 1. How do I look for the gamut for the display? 2. What kind of specs is recommended (e.g. sRGB 95% or above, matte, etc.) Thank you. *Is it possible to replace a glossy laptop display to a matte display myself?
  3. blaze124, good question. I know the price can be tempting but that's also how the market works. I uses both and finds a compact camera to be more comfortable on a daily bases. Back to the question, is it worth the price? - a DSLR needs cleaning and maintenance goods (add that to the price) - can you fit it in your bag safely? Or are you going to buy a bag/cover for it? The DSLR is offering being offered at a great price, but Do you really need one? - What kind of photos do you intend to take? - What do you intend to do with it after the trip? - What functions do you want? and need? - Are you going to print your photos, and in what size? If you are intending take it up as a hobby, DSLR is reasonable and considerable. now, if it is only for this vacation trip, no I don't recommend you a DSLR. Try this, fill up a 1L water bottle (60-80%) and put it in your bag which you will be carrying. Go out with the water bottle inside the bag like you usually would. Buy the one that you are happy to carry around every day, and take photo with. Not something that is only used once or on very few occasions because that's now worth the money. Another way to see if it worth the money... A) DSLR, $300 - used it at this trip - it is heavy so it sits in the shelf for the next 5 years B) Compact $450 - used it at this trip - it is so light you just keep it in your bag - uses it every-now-and-then for the next 5 years Well, I think that a product that is used until it has aged or broken is worth the price, comparing to $300 that is found cover in dust years later.
  4. well, i know dell inspirion 14 7460 is close... but it has a glare display.
  5. well, I can access to US, Japan, and China's available product.
  6. Does that effect much? I know that some models are limited to some countries.
  7. SiNevesh has mentioned the biggest different already. The bluetooth, D3400 is a little but it is probably unnoticeable because it is 5g. Personally speaking, unless you are planning to take photos with your subject very very very far away, I recommend you get a good compact or a mirror-less camera instead. Because you can travel lighter, it is smaller, and most of the recent model has great qualities (Unless you are going to print it in A1 or poster size, you probably won't notice the difference). The camera with len will be at least 500g (that's half a kilo and this is in the case of a light len). Not to mention that it is harder to use than a compact camera. Compact cameras such as canon G7X, sony cybershot rx100 series are great. A good camera does not means a good photo, a good photo is by a good photographer.
  8. Currently looking for a laptop for photo editing. The main program that will be used is Digital Photo Professional (canon's imaging software). I don't intend to use photoshop much. Possibly something that is 14 inches and less than 1000 USD Q1. What do you recommend? (I'm open for recommendations upto 15.6" under 1000 USD) Q2. Do I need a dedicated GPU (e.g. Nvidia) or Intel HD Graphics 620 or above is enough? Thank you very much, I really appreciate for your valuable comments and recommendations.
