Holy crap man, its not that f**king hard.

GIMP is basically a free version of Photoshop that works cross-platform and has most if not all of the same capabilities. There are HUNDREDS of wonderful, well-detailed tutorials you can find around the web for how to make YouTube backgrounds using it. I wanted to personally make myself forum signatures when I was into a Korean game, and it didn't take that long to figure out. Also, the background that's right there is REALLY f**king ugly.

STAR_ and Jerma985 are the two only gaming channels I can rely on for quality content. Most of everything else is garbage to me. I occasionally watch pewdiepie, but I usually have other things I'd prefer to do. Most of the up and coming gaming channels I see are dirt, and I would rather not watch them.

Axypha got a reaction from byalexandr in Typing Slower on Mechanical Keyboard?
I used to play a sh*tty Korean game called Elsword (https://youtu.be/5o9eQ6TOYro) AndThisWasBeforeIWasGood... the game, despite having incredible class imbalances (the reason I quit) had an almost untouchable skill-ceiling. The melee classes in-game heavily relied on mindgames and stepping using the arrow keys + z and x keys for attacks, and was incredibly timing based. The dexterity and speed of the greatest players was incredible. Some of the best players in the entire game even 'lubed up' their hands so they could move their hands a lot faster than normally. (https://youtu.be/c5aetXAH0Wo) The point is, it was a less well-known fact among the really good 'steppers' (people who can utilize the arrow keys to perform incredibly quick movements) that broken-in membrane or scissor switch keyboards were generally superior to any mechanical keyboards, because there was a very clear actuation point and a very broken in mechanical/scissor-switch keyboard required a bit less force than a mechanical one. It was also easier to slide your fingers to press down keys on low-profile keys that were level with eachother, and this created major stepping advantages and made some timing-based movements much easier.

So basically... Players who've played this game for a very long time have realized that this hunk of junk: (http://www.amazon.com/HP-H3C52AA-ABA-K1500-Keyboard/dp/B00E4TOWR0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1436189721&sr=8-2&keywords=HP+Keyboard) was the greatest keyboard out of them all.

    Not this: (http://www.amazon.com/Das-Keyboard-Professional-Soft-Tactile/dp/B00JG01QTY/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1436189849&sr=1-2&keywords=Das+Keyboard)

TL;DR: Mechanical keyboards really don't give you an advantage or increase your WPM alone, and if you were expecting that, you're a sucker. They give you a generally more enjoyable typing experience and a more premium feel that lots of enthusiasts have come to enjoy.

Just remember not to fall into the realm of RGB Keyboards.  Don't buy a keyboard because of the fancy lights it has. They mean nothing at all. It doesn't even have a real practical purpose. If you're going to complain about the bad lights in your house, why are you getting a keyboard before fixing your sh*tty house?

So, on this forum I see that most people have a library of more than 25 or 50 Games, and some way higher. I personally think playing 3 Games is a lot, but that really depends on if you're hardcore or casual. So, here's my personal definition of a Hardcore and Casual Gamer.

Hardcore: When you pick up a game, you get really into it. You spend most of your computer time in that game, and don't really play anything else.

Casual: You have tons and tons of games, and you just get out of a game and get into another. You might pay special attention to a certain game, but overall you just play.

Axypha got a reaction from Verne in Thoughts about mice after being more informed
So basically, I've been doing moar r3s33rch on mice, and I'm just going to put some of the things out there for other people shopping for mice. There's a bit of BS surrounding mice, and I'd like some of you to know about it.

NOTE: Before you read, you should all know that this just plain DOESN'T MATTER for any normal user. This is made from a gaming standpoint.

First off, Optical > Laser. I know everyone who says this sounds like a D-Bag, but Mouse Acceleration is BAD for aiming. Using mouse acceleration obviously feels normal to Mouse Accel. users, but if you want to be a good player at any FPS Game, you NEED to not have mouse accel. You see this?
This is basically IMPOSSIBLE for anyone with a laser mouse. I can guarantee you that the 2 Snipers behind the screen do NOT have a Laser Mouse. Mouse acceleration is plain bad for aiming, and you shouldn't use it.
There's also a lot of bullcrap around DPI. Let me just quote an paragraph from here (http://www.overclock.net/t/951894/the-truthful-mouse-guide): "DPI/CPI refers to dots per inches or counts per inches. It refers to the sensitivity of your mouse. However a very common misunderstanding about it is that DPI/CPI is a benchmark for how accurate your mouse is.
This is wrong! DPI/CPI is just the distance your mouse cursor moves in relation to the distance your mouse moves in real life. So for example, a mouse with higher sensitivity moves 3 pixels/cm whereas a mouse with lower sensitivity moves 1 pixel/cm, BUT they both have the same accuracy. Many gaming companies take advantage of this misunderstanding and often boast about their high DPI/CPI mice when they are actually overpriced garbage. Some gaming companies even use interpolaration (using software to trick the sensor) to increase the DPI/CPI further even at the expense of the mouse's performance. DO NOT BELIEVE their marketing and fall for their traps. DPI/CPI HAS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH ACCURACY OF YOUR MOUSE. A good example is the microsoft intellimouse 3.0, a very popular choice among professional gamers, it only has 400 dpi but its a very good mouse nevertheless."

You don't NEED 5,000+ DPI on a gaming mouse. A High-DPI Mouse would really only benefit someone with a 2K+ Monitor, and 3,000 DPI is still completely fine for that resolution.*Not part of the Paragraph*

Finally, Weights on Mice are just a gimmick. From a gaming standpoint, Lighter = Better.

To finish off, here are a list of mice that have top-notch accuracy and are great for gaming. I posted this because 1/2 of the Gaming Optical Mice today have bs like HARDWARE ACCELERATION AHEM. If you doubt me, then go look at Steelseries. There are LITERALLY only like, 2 Optical Mice made by Steelseries that ACTUALLY don't have hardware acceleration bs.
