TheRealDieselD's Achievements

  1. the PC is really nice, good work! that desk setup, however, opens a whole 'nother can of worms
  2. looks cold! very good work
  3. If I read this 3 hours earlier, I would have gotten that steal real quick lol! maybe next time. Hopefully this weekend or next week when I cash out on a couple ether, ill get the parts and let you guys know my progress. i appreciate everyone's help!
  4. What brand would you recommend for 4tb drives? I dont wanna get crucified by my fellow techies for having "shit drives" as i hear in our office every day for other people's downfalls lol
  5. Are the 2TB drives you're referring to commercial/NAS rated drives? I was looking at these https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-FireCuda-Gaming-2-5-Inch-ST2000LX001/dp/B01M1NHCZT/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1510240392&sr=8-3&keywords=2tb+2.5&dpID=51VO7uARd5L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-BarraCuda-2-5-Inch-Internal-ST2000LM015/dp/B01LX13P71/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1510240392&sr=8-2&keywords=2tb+2.5&dpID=51wh6SybvWL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
  6. I have an HP Proliant 380 G6. It has 8, 2.5" drive bays and I need at least 7TB (10 would be the perfect sweet spot) of storage with some kind of RAID for protection, also keep in mind 1 or 2 bays need to be filled with the OS, which is currently on a 15k drive, though I have another I would like to use in RAID 1. What is the cheapest way I can achieve this? If the 2.5" drives are limiting, what are my best NAS options? I know a picture has no factor on the choices but just wanted to show off what I got going so far!
  7. I've been thinking about doing a green build, Razer makes very nice peripherals and partners for some great components. This is very similar to my build I just did but in the Corsair case. I was thinking of doing a brief overview build log, and your post gave me that motivation. Great work dude!
  8. Where in the world are you? I have an HP ProLiant DL380 G6 I wouldn't mind selling. 7x 750GB wd black in raid. Dual xeon for 24 threads and 36GB ECC. Been using it as a backup Plex server
  9. I don't know what household wouldn't be strict about porn! Jkjk, just build separate libraries and only give your family access to one, while the rest of your personal are on a library only you have access too.
  10. This is turning out to be an amazing piece of art! I really respect the amount of time you spend and your attention to detail. This build log is a huge motivation for us all to be more meticulous with our own builds and I hope to see more great work from you and everyone else here! I don't have the most expensive build and I haven't put a lot of time into it, but following this thread has inspired me to at least organize my build and I am excited to show off my work, even if most of the stuff here is way ahead of mine. Much props and much love man!
  11. If theres a leafblower in your garage already, then id say just use that.. make sure not to 9/11 your tower and secure it to the ground
  12. The Devil's Canyon i7's still can keep up, I'm rocking a 4790k since its release. Ive also had the same mobo, RAM, storage drive and power supply. All from around 2014. The only upgrades Ive made was the OS drive (to a 950 pro) and the GPU a few times (now a Strix 1080ti). I'm pushing out 3440x1440 games GG EZ
