  1. thanks, from the very little i could find from google, (its prob because i dont know how best to describe it rather than brown spot) pressure spot is something i found, i inspected the box and its packing and literally nothing could impact the screen there or cause a point of pressure. unless its happened prior to packing but the QA im lead to believe is not run of the mill. Makes me think it would be hard to miss. i'm guessing i'll have to return it for a refund as amazon have no stock, which i'm not really wanting to do as i got it on a deal that nowhere else can match.
  2. I've had this monitor for just over a week and i noticed this as soon as i turned it on, but it dissipated within the hour of it being on. Now its back and its not going away. Does anyone know what this is, why its occurred? its not exactly a cheap monitor so i didn't expect to have issues with the screen. any help is much appreciated.
  3. in the 3rd pic of my playback devices ive tried setting "realtek digial output" as the default but nope... no sound
  4. hey folks, hopefully someone can shed some light on my problem. finished my ryzen build and everything seems to be working well...bar my audio issue. the rear io has optical out which i want to use... maybe i'm being thick, but it doesn't seem to be in my playback devices. ive downloaded all the drivers from the Asus site for my mobo, i dont know what else to do Headset i'm using is Astro A50 Gen 1 and the sound at the moment is being carried to the tx via usb, which i dont want. attached some images to show my rear audio ports, the astro set up guide and what i see in my playback devices. please help.
  5. a small update to my thread. Ive managed to find and buy a ryzen 1600 on ebay for cheap.. well alot cheaper than current market prices in the UK at least but it doesn't come with a cooler. I'll be honest, im a bit suss that its brand new with no cooler and the seller has 2 of them, none the less i bought it pretty much concluding its "fallen of the back of a lorry" but ive ebay and paypal backing should anything go wrong. Though now it does bring me back to the dilemma of needing a cooler. ive looked around and im sick of UK sites advertising AM4 compatible but small print referring to the manufacture web site to claim the am4 bracket. Overclockers UK has some coolers i like with am4 brackets in stock but their prices... not the most competitive, tho i may not have much option if i want to build my system this coming week. My graphics card being the Hall of fame is centrepiece of my system and so im pretty much restricted with a white on black theme, no complaints i like that look. im rambling a bit now.. i'll get to the point.. Cryorig C7 - TDP 100 W - is it too small? as soon as i seen it i thought yes, that top down black on white cooler looks nice. Cryorig C1 -TDP 140 W - its bigger, ive looked at YouTube reviews, i just don't know how it will perform with an overclocked 1600. then i found the Scythe Grand Kama Cross 3 - the fact it looks way different to anything else ive seen is intriguing. Does anyone have any experience with these coolers on ryzen? Thanks Will
  6. Since creating this post i've managed to work out that the Hyper 103 cooler i have isnt AM4 compatible. Darn it
  7. wee problem, i don't have a cd drive, so just download the Asus motherboard drivers to a USB prior to the swap out of those hardware components. ? Thanks for the bad news on the OEM licence, not what i wanted to here but its part of the Info i was looking for so i appreciate your help, cheers buddy Will
  8. That was a very speedy reply and Thanks for it none the less Shane, i don't think the HDD will wipe/erase or anything like that, its more the drivers and everything relating to my chipset and what have you which i'm assuming..... maybe wrongly, could mess something up when i swap the parts out and attempt the first boot to windows. Cheers WIll
  9. hey folks im looking for some advice on upgrading my system The Current setup i have i built myself to basically get a foot in the door on the PC gaming side of things, i didn't want to spend a fortune only to later find id rather just pick up a ps4 pad. You'll all be glad to hear that i'm settled in and really enjoying my experience as are my mates that jumped on the same bandwagon. PubG, dota, escape from tarkov, awe there's just so many games, including all those within origin access, - so i've now decided i want to step up my platform to something quite simply - Better.. current specs of my system. Intel G4560 gigabyte b250m-ds3h corsair vengance lpx ddr4 2 x 8gb coolermaster hyper 103 cpu cooler KFA2 Hall of fame GTX1060 500w PSU 1TB HDD now, heres my problem as the title suggests, i'm going for a ryzen 1600 system and ive just bought the Asus ROG Strix B350 F Gaming motherboard, so im now committed to building it lol i know i'll need am AM4 bracket for my cooler but i'll not be stuck given the 1600 comes with a cooler anyway ( yes id love an AIO or custom loop but for now.... no, im not doing that ) really i just want to swap out the Mobo and the CPU. How do i go about that? im Guessing i cant just do a swapsies and off i go job done.. I don't want to wipe my HDD.. i'll spend half the day downloading all my games and ive no other storage to back things up. Im sure you are all reading this and saying wheres your SSD.. well i dont have one, i quite frankly don't have a problem with waiting 42 seconds on average for my system to boot and be ready to use. im looking for my options with what ive got already. how will my windows licence work? thats another question and concern, i don't have retail copy, i have an OEM copy which cost me £12, Ok that's not breaking the bank but id rather not have to buy another. all advice and help would be very much appreciated. Cheers Will
  10. Thank you to both of you, I'll go Buy them now.
  11. Hi folks, I'm Completely new here to building a pc. I've ordered a gigabyte b250m-ds3h motherboard, the specs says 2133 and 2400mhz ddr ram. I can get 16gb of corsair vengeance (2x8gb) at 2666mhz for £60 (used) will this be ok? I think it will from my basic web searches but I don't want to take the chance just incase. Thanks folks.
