  1. Agreed. I've been using an AT2020USB for about 7years and it's still going strong. No other hardware required. I've had a fair amount of positive comments about the sound quality, but I also sank a lot of time into experimenting and dialling it in for my environment. My final solution was VoiceMeeter, Cantible Lite and VST plugins (e.g. Reaper ReaPlugs) Cantibile patches into Voicemeeter mic channel, processes the audio then feeds it back to VoiceMeeter Voicemeeter Mic IN > Cantibile > Voicemeeter Mic Out The VST plugins need to be in a specific order: reaGATE > reaFIR > reaCOMP > reaEQ
  2. Surprised a used GoPro wasn't a suggestion for camera. I use an old Hero 4 which is powered by the PC's USB, has auto exposure, doesn't need a bright light and as it's so light you can stick it pretty much anywhere. I'm also disappointed in the mic quality At the very least I would have expected the recommendation of a shock mount for the mic so table knocks and bumps don't get transmitted directly into the mic. Also something to limit plosives. The Dynamic mic audio was full of it until Linus was playing, so his head was turned away slightly. Even a sock over the mic would have helped in a pinch until you get a proper foam mic cover. Sure, it will soften the audio ever so slightly, but nothing that can't be fixed with the EQ. You can't EQ away plosives.

  4. Summary Chase on Two Wheels, one of the biggest Motorbike / Motovlog YouTubers (1+m subs) has their account deleted following it being hacked and restored weeks ago Quotes My thoughts Chase has been a PG content creator for the last 10 years or so and YT is his main income. He reached out to his YT partner who did initial investigation, but YT still hasn't done anything ... 10 days and counting since his channel was deleted. If they can do this to a big YouTuber like him, who will be next? Sources https://twitter.com/C2Wtweets Latest at the time of writing: https://twitter.com/C2Wtweets/status/1335018175537287169?s=20
  5. I was reluctant to use handbrake until recently, but now I've used it I love it. + you can save profiles to meet each format you require. You can tell it to retain filenames so that Resolve or PremPRo will have no problem reconforming it.
  6. It is unless the copyrite holder says it's opensource or creative commons. Best option - record some vlogs or a how-to video then edit it together. It takes hours to edit compared to recording, but it's useful learning process on getting (requesting) source footage to fit your edit
  7. I build all my PCs here (pic source: AEEvans)
  8. Don't know why people get so butthurt about this... it's not like you see this side of it when it's installed. The back plate tho ... that's what needs to look good
  9. It depends on the terms of the licence. It could vary from free to use as long as credited or pay for use without creator credit. Namedropping the creator at that point would be at the user's discretion.
  10. I feel like this was one of those "F*ck it .. I'm now making the videos I want. Screw what anyone else thinks" videos Linus talked about in his thinking about retiring video. Pushing against the wave of AMD fandom in order to put a virtual arm around the awesome people in Intel that he's encountered and befriended.... the kind of people the like of which are core to making large corporations tick with the execs oblivious to how lucky they are to have them working with them. Big up the unsung techie nutjobs that push the boundaries and always ask "But what if we try this....?" I'm sure they appreciated every minute of this one
  11. um .... you might want to have another go at that swear beep @ 10:22
  12. Thanks, That made it more clear the distinction between HAXM and WHP[X] I already have WHP enabled in Windows Features as per my screenshots, but I found that there's a 3rd option that needs disabled. In my screenshot you can see WHP is enabled, but above it there's "Virtual Machine Platform" (that was introduced with W10 build 1809) That also used Hyper-V tech, so although Hyper-V and it's subcomponents are all disabled, checking VMP does enable some components of it. I deselected VMP and now it works. I haven't seen that referenced anywhere in all my digging about. GG Microsoft. That's taken me days to find Hopefully this will help someone else in the same boat.
  13. I'm having issues trying to get emulation running on Android Studio and I was hoping someone has an idea on how to get it working? I recently rebuilt my PC going from I7-6850k to AMD 3900X with new Mobo and faster RAM. Prior to the rebuild I had it working with no problem, so I don't know if it's a compatibility issue with the Intel Software on AMD, but from what I've researched I can see other people are able to use it, so I must be missing a step somewhere? The error I get on trying to install is: If I try to run the installer directly I get a similar error message: I can confirm that Virtualisation is working as I use VirtualBox a lot. Confirmed in Task Manager: I've confirmed that HyperVisor is unavailable in Windows Features and HyperVisor Plaftorm is enabled (apparently it needs that to run the emulation) I also confirmed that Windows Defender Core Isolation is disabled (as it uses Hyper-V to perform it's task) But I'm stuck. I can't see what else I need to enable to get it working and without the emulation running I can't check what I'm doing *sad beeps*
  14. You could have a look at http://windowgrid.net/ Can do fairly complex window/pane templates and is free
  15. Probably worth trying it with a fresh install of Windows + latest chipset and GPU drivers. If there are still issues then it may not be coping with thermals or possibly a loose connection. In which case you're potentially looking at doing a teardown and replace the GPU thermal paste with fresh paste. While doing that you'll also be making sure all cables and ribbons are properly seated (and dust removed from fans and grills) While it's open, may as well re-seat the RAM. And if it's 3+yrs old then it's worth changing the Motherboard battery (the round battery - usually type: CR2032)
  16. They paid to use it once. If they can get a perpetual license then it will likely be permanent. See 1h 02m into the latest WAN show (2020/04/24):
  17. It'll be OEM, so probably not transferable. 3 options. 1) You could try to transfer it. If you align it with a Microsoft account then when you move you might be able to transfer the license. If yes, then it's a bit of a hoohah (takes 10 mins or so with a lot of typing of codes), but if it works then you transfer the license. 2) You could run it as "unlicensed". You can't customise the installation, but if it's already customised then those settings will stay. You just can't change them (wallpaper etc) 3) You can pick up a license from eBay or Amazon at a ... competitive price.
  18. RaspberryPi 2 Model B - as It can run on USB 2/3 power. The Pi 3 and 4 use more power and have to use the wall socket/adapter to run The Pi 2B I have used to run off the USB ports on my TV. I'd switch the TV on and the Pi would boot up with LibreELEC (Kodi Media Server). I think the 3 needed more power because of the integrated WiFi.
  19. Aaaaah. In my old Intel ASUS mobo that was there. In the new AM4 ASUS board they renamed it "DOCP" A quick google search for my Mobo and XMP returned the following from overclockersclub.com "...but what might stand out is ASUS has gone with the Direct Over Clock Profile (D.O.C.P) naming for memory profiles instead of eXtreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.). While technically I would say ASUS has it right, the world has adopted the XMP naming scheme and it is the exact same thing" Enabled and boots up fine. Thank you. I owe you virtual beers
  20. Hi I recently upgraded my PC by switching from Intel to AMD New Mobo: X570 ROG Crosshair VIII Hero CPU: 3900X I reused the memory from my old config which was 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX (CMK32GX4M4B3200C16) @ 3200Mhz In the Intel build I could only get that memory working stable at 3133Mhz, but in the new build it would run at 3200Mhz Some instability/BSOD issues that transferred to the new build and I put it down to the memory as it's the only component that was left to swap. So, as Ryzen likes faster RAM I decided to go for a dual 3600Mhx kit, but I'm not getting anywhere near those numbers. 2x16Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX "Ryzen Tuned" CMK32GX4M2Z3600C18 If I try to select the full 3600MHz the PC hangs with Q-Code 22 and the amber diagnostic LED If I clock it back to 3466Mhz it sticks on qcode 07 The only way it boots up is if I dial it right back to 3200Mhz - which is a waste of £40 as I could have purchased a 3200 kit if that's all these can get. I'm assuming I've done something wrong in the BIOS, so could someone steer me in the right direction so I can get the proper RAM speeds? My settings in BIOS (with mild OC): Ai Overclock Tuner: Manual Memory Frequency DDR4-3200MHz Core Performance Boost: Disabled CPU Core Ratio: 40.00 CPU Core Voltage: Manual CPU Core Voltage Override: 1.15v DRAM Voltage: 1.35v The rest are fan profile changes If I try to force RAM voltage to 1.35v and push beyond 3200Mhz I get a Q-Code: 22 If I try upping it from the stock 1.20v to 1.25v I get Q-code 07 So it doesn't seem happy with any voltage changes ... Any help appreciated
  21. Ok, got it fixed. Answer below in case someone else has the same issue/question The fix is to 1. Boot into Safe Mode 2. Start up Regedit 3. Go to: HKLM\System\ControlSet001\Services\AsIO 4. Change Start Type to: 4 (4=stopped) 5. Reboot That was it for me. Started no problem after that. Kinda obvious now I think about it, but there y'go. Link to the workaround from Superuser .com: https://superuser.com/questions/1209632/windows-10-crashed-so-badly-cant-even-get-inside-login-screen-asio-sys-rest
  22. I'm trying to install the Mobo Chipset drivers on the AMD PC I'm trying to fire the VM up on, but it says it won't let me do that in Safe Mode I thought that was the point of safe mode. Disable 3rd part drivers so you can fix them ...
  23. If you mean running Hypervisor then I've had issues having that installed alongside VirtualBox. VM is my preffered VM tool and I have multiple machines on it that I can spool up when I need. Moving everything over to Hypervisor isn't really an option right now.
