  1. what percentage usage is your cpu vs what is the percentage usage on gpu? a bottleneck would suggest that one is pegged close to 100 whilst the other isnt anywhere near. iirc(please correct me if im wrong) minecraft is pretty RAM-bound so how much ram do you have?
  2. unless there is a new 570x, im pretty sure it comes with rgb fans? but yes the fans are visible from the outside but I would greatly consider if you have the room putting the plain fans that come with the aio on aswell and have them in a push pull config.
  3. include screenshots of the model, as the saying goes "no pics no clicks" Whenever i hear people talking about "open air cases" my first question is always why? How many times will you ACTUALLY pull the motherboard out to swap it with another? but if you really do need this, just invest in an actual test bench or an open air case. if you NEED to d.i.y. long screws with a nut glued/welded in place with washers on top would support the mobo and just include longer screws to make sure the GPU is steady to simulate screwing into brackets on a case.
  4. you haven't mentioned what the system that the SSD's will be going into but most of the GPU will run at 8x allowing an extra 8 lanes that can be used for high speed storage and similar devices. AFAIK you should be able to raid nvme drives but as long as it is a decent drive, the speed difference will be negligible and not really worth the effort for a consumer.
  5. as said, build wherever, I have lost count of how many PC's i've built on carpets.
  6. you'd have to either take the cooler off and read what it says on the GPU itself or simply run benchmarks and compare to the other cards. As far as the freezing issue is concerned, flashing the card wouldn't cause that unless it is flashed to say that it has higher VRAM than it actually has, this shouldnt be the case as you knowingly bought a 4gb card so it should have at least 4gb anyways. TLDR; take cooler off, check die.
  7. the z flip gives me the same vibes as the new motorola razr and to a lesser extent the energizer phone, the hype will be huge, the company(ies) will put huge investment into it and then 4% of their customers will buy them.
  8. interestingly enough Packet tracer servers have a maximum of two network interfaces, for my purposes i will just be using 3 servers as a simulated server that should have at least a 4 port NIC
  9. out of question would this sort of concept be out of the scope for someone without a full CCNA level of knowledge, i'm probably at CCNA 1 and 2 level at this moment, if this is outside of that scope i will just use DHCP on a router instead
  10. With this topology: first 2 pc's on vlan 10 second 2 on vlan 20 third 2 on vlan 30 all vlans setup with ip addresses 172.16.0.2 - 5 respectively with the default gateway as 172.16.0.1 the DHCP server is on a trunk port with access to all vlans for now on g0/1 how can I assign specific pools to each vlan to get ip's? I understand its not worth it right now but this is a theoretical situation with 600 users with 200 on each vlan so I need DHCP There is no router for now but there will be
  11. just whipped this up quick, don't judge use of cables, this is more what i'm talking about, every pc would go into the DHCP server (via switches), then into the routers before being sent off, would something like this work? @TerminalDuplex This is 1/3rd of the topology, if that helps any
  12. Okay, yeah sorry for the vague information, it's only an idea in my head, I havent really considered the topology of the network, just curious how dhcp should be used when theres so many hosts and routers
  13. I think I'm confusing myself here rip Essentially it's a theoretical situation where 3 large cities have roughly 800 users each, I'd be using dhcp to ensure no duplicate ip addresses, the 3 routers would be configured so if one goes down there are 2 more still working. If you wouldn't use dhcp there what would you use? Other than manually configuring all the users ips
  14. The whole scope being 3 separate hosts trying to connect over a "large" distance, each with around 800 theoretical hosts This will be a major route for communication, it's a bit hard to explain really
  15. I'm at a crossroads with how to setup a theoretical network, 9 routers in total, 3 on each main "host" which all need DHCP setup on them, would it be more worthwhile to individually setup DHCP on each router or setup 3 DHCP servers for the routers?
  16. Well the i5 will always have the physical core advantage, which some people can utilise more(at least in theory) The argument has always stood that the i5 is awkward, you can step down to the i3 and still have the same number of "cores" or just spend a little extra on the i7, if the core count predictions are right then this is just exaggerated. You have to think from Intel's perspective, every cpu they make is designed to be an i7 but because of imperfections they end up being i3s, i5s or even lower skus.
  17. Well traditionally, the i3 has hyperthreading and will have the same "core count" as an i5, eg. 2c4t vs 4c4t, if this 4c8t i3 is accurate then we'll probably see an 8c8t i5 followed by presumably an 8c16t i7 and probably anywhere from 10-12c with 20-24t i9, this will be incredible for the consumer market
  18. Is fine, mistakes are always made
  19. Did you not verify a post before water cooling?
  20. I just had concerns as to whether the vrms could handle the increased clock speeds
  21. That's what I'd assumed but didn't want to pull the trigger in case there was complications like not being able to overclock very well.
  22. Simple question is there any info on this? Sitting pretty over here with my r5 1600 but would happily pay for a 3600 after looking at benchmarks, how much more demanding are there new chips on older vrms Specifically the strix b350 board
  23. You'll see improvements with higher ram speeds, I dont have the figures but all it takes is a quick search on YouTube, "Ryzen 3000 series ram speeds"
  24. Try it with x264 presets, twitch gives some presets for setups, like 900p 50 fps etc. I have an r5 1600 with the same gpu and I get the same fps on 1080p and 1440p so changing details will naturally offload it to the gpu
