EventHorizonVII's Achievements

  1. Romer-g is an improvement over cherry IMHO. If you want Cherry-esque you can give outemu switches a go. They are a good clone of cherry
  2. Assuming you have a reference card? If so why not just invest in a 120mm AiO and use NZXT G12 to mount the cooler to it and call it a day? You're losing out on free screen refresh improvement by mashing a 980 with a freesync monitor.
  3. P400S is a fantastic case but it supports up to 360 actually. The shroud has a panel that is removable. You won't get a rad up top, there isn't enough space. I tried. Best you'll do in that case is a 360 front and a 120 rear. I own the case. My digital baby is implanted in it. Sorry I can't say about other cases just clearing the air on a great budget TG case.
  4. IMHO these cards are negligible to one another. Do you have a freesync monitor? If so go AMD G-sync? Go Nvidia. Get whichever is cheapest. There aren't really any Vulkan games that give AMD the advantage but Nvidia needs to catch up fully there. So again it's preference over negligible performance boost.
  5. Steam sale for sure. Or flip the keys via PayPal. Also PUBG because it is fantastic and fun.
  6. Backplate is done. I think doing an acrylic plate to cover the side facing the glass where the rad and fans are is next. Maybe a lightsaber lighted that breathes.
  7. Play nightly. EventHorizonVII also run a discord for it as well.
  8. Now that schools overall revisit the backplate. Going with acrylic and purple LED. Mock up of the backplate attached.
  9. Decided to line up someone to powder coat the metal pieces. It's been rainy and I needed to make use of the PC. I will have to pull it apart in two weeks when he has time to do it. So, thoughts? Cable management and such. I think the sleeved AIO tubes turned out good.
  10. Thank you, I may consider going with acrylic because of this... I figure if I get that cut out in vinyl and then spray the acrylic black, peel it and throw some purple LED or RGB under it that it would look pretty awesome.
  11. Since I'm having issues with painting the backplate I covered the tubes of the NZXT with primochill flex purple tubing and made use of the nylon clamps they have too.
  12. Spraying the back of the card with Duplicolor Metalcast has been challenging. The circular holes seem to be slightly dimpled. The paint is dripping in to them and causing a light ring affect around the machined holes on the aluminum back plate. Didn't help that my original surface was not level which you can see with the pooling on the last pic. I am laying down three layers of the adhesion promoter and then spraying three layers of the base coat which is an aluminum spray to give a chrome effect so that when the tinted layer goes down it shines. So strip it I shall and spray again. Six screws to remove, goodby warranty... TIM was applied pretty good at the factory. The suspects. Late night painting because...family. Base Coat Not Level and drain issues
