  1. I recently built my pc and ive been trying to overclock it for the past week running overnight tests. So far im at 4.7ghz @1.33v and it still crashed at around hour 7 in realbench stress test. Apart from that, my xmp profile also seems to be unstable without even overclocking my cpu. Im currently in the process of finding my max cpu oc with at most 1.35v where im getting around 85ºC with prime95 26.6 before moving on to the memory profile. Are my results normal? or did i get an unlucky chip this is my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fQRJmq
  2. Yesterday i finished building my pc but it seems the ram i bought is unstable when running at rated speeds. I bought everything on the US from amazon but now im back home in south america so i dont really know how easy or costly would it be to ask for a replacement. I have enabled xmp default profile and ive changed the settings manually in the BIOS but both seem to be causing game crashes. Should i try to ask for a replacement or do i just settle for a lower speed? my ram is at 2133 mhz atm, while the rated speeds are 3000. I'd really like to use my ram at 3000 mhz since, from what ive read, higher speeds reduce stuttering a bit, but i dont really know if i should try increasing the ram voltage to have it @3000 mhz cause i dont know how badly it would affect the ram. Any guidance is appreciated, thanks this is my pcpp: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fQRJmq p.s i havent tried middle ground speeds nor increasing the voltage to check if it gets stable.
  3. Hello, next week im travelling to the US and im going to buy all the hardware needed for my pc except for the case and monitor, and i really need help in regards to keeping my stuff safe. Im bringing everything but the PSU with me on my carry-on backpack on the way back (international flight), so i was wondering if anyone could give me advice maybe on a good backpack for my needs, how to wrap everything and that kind of stuff, or if anyone has any experience bringing hardware from abroad and getting in trouble for it at the airport. Shipping is out of the question since it will eat every penny i save my buying everything there, and i will also not bring the boxes with me so i can fit everything. I dont know if the protection that comes with this stuff inside their boxes is enough or if have to wrap it with bubbles or stuff like that. I would appreciate any help i can get, since i really have no idea how fragile this stuff is. If it helps, this is what ill be bringing with me: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Kh2FXP
  4. I should have said this before but i no longer have the r5 1600 + gtx 1070 ti build, dont wanna go into detail but it got stolen about 2 months ago so now im looking to buy another gaming pc, considering the performance i had with my last one
  5. Hello, im looking to buy a gaming pc soon and was wondering how the performance on 1080p was on pubg with an i5 8600k + gtx 1080. Im playing on 144 hz so im looking for good framerates (120+). I used to have an r5 1600 + 1070 ti and it was far from enough to achieve good fps (was getting 60-120 fps depending on the zone 2 months ago, idk if it has gotten any better in terms of optimization), so im wondering how this combo would work on it. Its not the only game i play but it used to be the only game i had issues running. Also wondering on the performance with an 8700k or an 1080 ti if anyone has any experience. I know those gpus may be overkill for 1080p but i just like high fps over res
  6. Hello, dont know if its the place to post this kind of stuff but i cant find a sufficient answer for this. Soon ill be travelling to the US and ill be buying all of my pc parts but the case (unless i manage to have free space for it) in my stay. Since the guaranty probably wont apply overseas ill end up getting everything out of their box so i can test if the parts are working. The questions i have are: a) Ill try to take everything with me at all times on the flight as carry-on luggage to avoid potential damage, what would be the best way to secure and wrap every part inside my bag? b)Will there be any problems with attempting to bring pc hardware by plane on carry on luggage? (no watercooler) c)If the components are for personal use, will i need to pay any taxes when i arrive at my home airport? have little to no knowledge regarding taxes Additional info: I really want to bring everything with me at all time so im certain the parts are safe, except maybe the psu which probably wont fit Shipping is out of the question, since the cost would be extremely high and would cut every single bit of money i save by buying everything there.
  7. Hello im looking to buy a gaming pc but i live in south america where prices are pretty high, but later this year (july ill be travelling to the US with my family and was looking to buy most, if not all of my pc parts there, and bring them back with me. My main concern is the packing part of it, so im looking for advice on how i should organize everything in order to minimize the risk of damage. I will probably need to remove most parts from their boxes so i can fit everything into my bag. I was thinking of bringing the gpu, drives, cpu and ram with me on my carry-on and the rest on my checked luggage, but im really not sure on whats the optimal way for me to travel with all this stuff, or if a piece of hardware can cause trouble at the airport. Is it a good idea to buy absolutely everything at the US, or is it better to purchase parts like the case/psu at my home country, despite the $50-$100 USD difference each? I also dont know anything about international airline restrictions or any additional taxes i need to pay when travelling with all this stuff, so any information regarding that topic would also help a lot. 9. Hello, later this year i am going to be travelling to europe where prices of pc hardware are considerably cheaper than where i live, so i was planning on upgrading my pc, if necessary. Main games i play are csgo, r6 siege, pubg, fortnite, ow, gta v and league atm but im starting to play AAA games. i use my pc only for gaming on 1080p and 144hz when possible, and dont have any plans of upgrading to 1440p any time soon, at least until i upgrade my gpu which wont happen for a long time. my budget is around 1k USD
  10. Hello, i just bought a 1070 ti gpu and i dont know if its working at its optimal performance. From the benchmarks ive seen on 1080p (my current res) on games i play such as gta v, pubg, r6 siege with a gtx 1080 ive seen much lower results with the 1070 ti, which is apparently just 10% worse than the 1080. on r6 siege im not able to maintain 144 fps, getting around 110 fps, on gta v im getting 60-80 fps and on pubg i sometimes get 50 fps in populated areas. none of this games are with maxed out settings I dont know much about this stuff and maybe my gpu is working as expected but i would really like to know if there is a way to know everythings fine. this are my pc components: cpu: ryzen 5 1600 (not oc) ram: ddr4 8 gb 2400 gpu: 1070 ti (not oc) mobo: b350m gaming pro 120 gb ssd+hdd 60 hz + 144 hz monitor
  11. Hello, currently i am looking to buy a gtx 1070 ti (the 1080 is a lot more expensive) and the msi duke model, along with the zotac amp are around $50-70 USD cheapers than the rest. I was wondering if im losing a lot by going with this cheaper models or if they are good. Atm im going for the msi duke, does anyone have any experience with it? is it loud?
  12. Hello, im looking to upgrade my current pc by purchasing a new gpu (gtx 1070/1080) and a new monitor. The monitor i want to buy is ViewSonic XG2401, which is 144hz while my current one is 60hz. I really want to use my current monitor as a secondary display but im not sure if i will encounter any problems trying to game on the 144 hz one while browsing on the 60 hz one. From what ive searched many people have had an issue where the 144 hz is locked into 60 hz, and have encountered no solution yet. So i was wondering if there was any way to avoid that issue.
  13. Last friday there was a power outage in my street while i was using my computer, so i unplugged everything from my pc. on monday the power came back on and my pc seemed to work fine, but a day after there was another unexpected power outage, again, i unplugged everything and it came back the next day, but this time when i turned on my computer, after the windows logo the screen stays grey without changing. i blindly typed my password in and my desktop appeared, but pretty much empty, the cursor wasnt thereand my keyboard stopped working after a few minutes ps I can open the bios and i have a b350m gaming pro mobo I would really appreciate some help here
  14. Well, the thing is i just changed motherboard and never really did anything regarding fan speeds. When i go to the fans interface the only thing i can comfortably change is smart fan mode disabled or enabled, i tried both and nothing changed
  15. Hello, I recently updated my bios to the latest version and i dont know why fans are louder than before. Prior bios update my pc started up pretty loud but when post finished it the fans calmed down to an almost silent state. But now, when i boot the pc, it starts up loud and the noise never calms down like before.I`ve checked previous posts like this but i cant figure out a solution, most components are pretty much new (just upgraded), so i dont think its a hardware issue. Although there is probably a bit of dust accumulated ( I bought it 1 and a half years ago), i cant see why it got louder only after bios update
