k.m.p got a reaction from off wave surfer in High-end AMD Navi cards are on the way
I'm gonna speculate that these 'high end' cards could support ray tracing, since the new consoles are being marketed as being able to use ray tracing and navi, whilst no amd navi card does it yet.

There's indeed quite a difference between someone who doesn't understand tech but tries to get a grasp on it even if it's difficult for us and them, and then there are people who are clueless about tech but act like they're experts and shit.

They  mainly said they don't like it because its making fun of people that know nothing about technology, when the reality is that most people don't need to or care.
Tbh those 'my old relative doesn't know how to use a phone' aren't as funny as people who pretend to know that they know about tech when they know nothing, or refuse to take any advise or accept the fact that they are wrong and then go on to do something stupid.

Honestly, these two guys are killing my, and many others, enjoyment of LTT.

Riley knows nothing about tech. He demonstrates this again and again with his apperances on the main channel. He knows absolutely nothing about PCs, and I've no idea what he is supposed to add to the channel, other than being really irritating. He's not funny. He doesn't know what he's talking about. So why did you hire him? Oh yeah, nepitism. Brilliant.

James is just a child. I mean what he is 35? And he acts like he's 15. It's utterly pathetic. HE is utterly pathetic The guy is just an irritating little sh*t, whom ruins every single video he is involved with. The guy is an utter embarrassment to the channel.

Whomever is in charge of new hires, needs to to take a serious look at themselves, because they are failing massively.

k.m.p got a reaction from Kryppan in PC or Console. Planning on improving my gaming experience, need advices.
The consoles advertise 4k gaming but the majority of the time it is either locked to 30fps or upscaled from 1440p or 1800p.
with your stretched budget of around 2000 including everything, your pc budget is looking to be about 1200, (assuming a new build and selling your previous one), this is just about enough for a gpu such as an rtx 2070. Whilst not going to be powerful enough to give you true 4k, it in most cases will allow you to run games at 1800p (lower resolution then 4k but higher then 1440p) at (most of the time) 60fps. Which should look better then the 4k output from the xbox one x.

However a true 4k gaming experience at this budget is for the most part unrealistic. If you are ok with in some games less then 60fps or to lower some graphical settings, you may be able to go with a used gtx 1080ti which is the only way to get native 4k gaming at that price.

The consoles are not able to run 4k without compromise, speaking from experience the '4k' from a ps4 pro compared to a 1080p on pc on a 4k tv sitting around 1.5-2 meters away, the pc version looked better. I'm not sure why but am going to assume it is either due to lower graphical settings or the upscaling. (the xbox one x should do a little better but in most tests online it is comparable to a gtx 1060/70.

That PSU seems excessive (850 seems enough), as does the 32GB of RAM for current gaming. And for consumers that don't need the consistency of the PRO ssd's, the 970 evo is probably the better value.

k.m.p got a reaction from Perky1977 in BYOC ticket question
yeah, my mistake, I definitely could have worded that response better, to reword it, its not JUST about wasting the money, if you want to go to ltx, great, just going to say that the dreamhack byoc probably won't be that much fun if you don't bring a computer, since it quite literally is a 500 seat gaming area for people to bring their computers to, and I still stand by my statement that its unfair towards people who actually want to bring a computer to the dreamhack. Nobody is saying you are disrepectful for not bringing a computer to ltx, in fact with Linus saying on wan show that there is a maximun of about 8000 (I think) tickets and only 500 byoc tickets, majority of people will not be bringing a computer to the show.

sorry for your question being ignored before, and for my reply or anyone elses on this forum having offended you, it was not the intention.

k.m.p got a reaction from Perky1977 in BYOC ticket question
The reason its seen as disrispectful is because there is a limit to 500 seats at the byoc, its not about wasting the money but the fact that if you buy a ticket and not use the byoc, somebody else that would have wanted to bring a computer to the byoc and actually used it missed out.

If your going to buy a byoc, only do so if you actually intend to use it, otherwise its a waste of your money and denying somebody who could have actually bought a computer to the byoc a chance to do so

    is your monitor 144hz?
if not then its not worth going any higher then an rx 580, if it is, then yes, at that price point a 1660ti would make the most sense.

Also, its normally best to create another post if you have questions.

its not advisable to go with higher then 24 inches with a 1080p monitor because the pixel density is too low and as you have noticed, it will look blurry.

it may actually be a better idea to either downsize to a 1080p 144hz 24 inch monitor or if you don't want a smaller monitor, save up and get a 1440p monitor (if possible 144hz) monitor alongside a new gpu, at 1440p its advisable to go with at least an rtx 2060, anything else will struggle to achieve 60fps.

if you are ok with lower framerates, then an gtx 1660ti will be good enough.

unfortunately only amd option that makes sense right now is the rx 580, if you can get it for substantially cheaper then a gtx 1660, they do have cards in that price range- the rx 590 but there is zero reason to buy it given how much faster the 1660ti is.

this could change with amd navi (next gen gpu's) that have been rumoured for a while now to give rtx 2070 performance at about 250 usd, but nothing is guarantee'd and with how badly vega did, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

op has specifically said that his usage is gaming, I know that the budget allows for 64gb of ram, but anything more then 16 is going to give zero performance increase making it a waste of money, however what wouldn't be a waste of money is changing the 2tb hard drive to an ssd, doesn't have to be nvme, an 860 evo would be just fine.

for a 240hz monitor you will be better off with a i5 8600k with a z370 board- doesn't have to be a top of the line, but has to support overclocking.
you don't need 32gb of ram, there is no difference between 16 and 32 for gaming.
1000w psu is overkill, 750w semi modular is more then sufficient.
