  1. It works on my windows pc, but I can't say since I never actually got it to boot into windows. Thanks, will see if I can get my hands on one for cheap
  2. nope, mashed every possible button on the keyboard, nothing happens
  3. tried f5, del, tab, will try everything and come back
  4. Hello everyone, I've been asked by a family member to see if anything can be done with a old windows xp system that he bought in 2010, his son wanted to use it for minecraft and I plan to see if that works. The motherboard is a Asus a8n32-sli, 3gb ram, and the gpu is a ati radeon x1600 pro. I cannot get into the system so don't know what the rest of the specs are. The main problem that I've been having is that I cannot get into the bios. I'm using a usb keyboard, which lights up when plugged in but no buttons actually appear to register. I don't know if its just a boot phase since the hard drive is also in a boot loop (gets to the 'windows did not launch properly, boot into safe mode', no clicks register, back to bios screen, rinse and repeat) or if I need to get a ps2 keyboard in order to access the bios. Thanks
  5. I wouldn't worry too much, I doubt these gpu's are going to be released in 2019, likely q1 2020 release.
  6. I'm gonna speculate that these 'high end' cards could support ray tracing, since the new consoles are being marketed as being able to use ray tracing and navi, whilst no amd navi card does it yet.
  7. I havent used anything from innergie so can't personally vouch for them, what I can say however is that I have used a lot of anker products and none of them have had any issues, personally from experience I would recommend getting an anker charger for everything.
  8. this, if you do have a drive connected, make sure both sata data and power connectors are in properly into the drive and the data cable into the motherboard
  9. That I very much respect, often I find that when people ask for advise, the easiest people to teach are the people that are willing to think logically and try to understand, even when they know nothing. But people that think they know everything are near impossible to explain anything to.
  10. They mainly said they don't like it because its making fun of people that know nothing about technology, when the reality is that most people don't need to or care. Tbh those 'my old relative doesn't know how to use a phone' aren't as funny as people who pretend to know that they know about tech when they know nothing, or refuse to take any advise or accept the fact that they are wrong and then go on to do something stupid.
  11. our custums charge from outside the eu can be an absolute cunt, nothing anyone can do about it that isn't illegal, (which would get this thread locked)
  12. In case you havent already returned it, its only the other ssd that has issues, the t force is fine, according to steve from hardware unboxed
  13. So much speculation, we've basically seen everything from 5ghz base clock claims to low single digit ipc with no clock speed bump. 4.5ghz means absalutely nothing if you don't know what it is, could be 4.5 base, boost or max oc, the only thing we do know is that the 7nm used is a high performance node, not a low power one, and according to the amd OFFICIAL demo, the new amd 8 core is faster then the 9900k at less power, which people have speculated to mean that they have a lot more oc headroom. Hopefully it is the case but lets not get our hopes up just yet.
  14. I'm planning on comming as well from the uk, I've seen that prices on hotels are much higher then airbnb's and that the cheapest airport afaik to fly from is london gatwick. not 100% confirmed on going for me, but fingers crossed
  15. In a recent wan show they confirmed that they changed their mind on open sourcing it
  16. the cpu and gpu part of the chip function seperately, having no load on the gpu might help the cpu boost slightly higher but not by much. A r3 1200 oc will perform almost exactly like the 2200g. First go into the settings and change the framerate of your 144hz monitor to 60hz and see if you are still having problems, not 100% sure that it is differnce in hz that is causing the issues.
  17. the supersampling refers to rendering at a higher resolution then that of the display and using that for better quality, it only does that on 1080p displays. if you are ok with 4k 30fps, then either option is fine.
  18. The consoles advertise 4k gaming but the majority of the time it is either locked to 30fps or upscaled from 1440p or 1800p. with your stretched budget of around 2000 including everything, your pc budget is looking to be about 1200, (assuming a new build and selling your previous one), this is just about enough for a gpu such as an rtx 2070. Whilst not going to be powerful enough to give you true 4k, it in most cases will allow you to run games at 1800p (lower resolution then 4k but higher then 1440p) at (most of the time) 60fps. Which should look better then the 4k output from the xbox one x. However a true 4k gaming experience at this budget is for the most part unrealistic. If you are ok with in some games less then 60fps or to lower some graphical settings, you may be able to go with a used gtx 1080ti which is the only way to get native 4k gaming at that price. The consoles are not able to run 4k without compromise, speaking from experience the '4k' from a ps4 pro compared to a 1080p on pc on a 4k tv sitting around 1.5-2 meters away, the pc version looked better. I'm not sure why but am going to assume it is either due to lower graphical settings or the upscaling. (the xbox one x should do a little better but in most tests online it is comparable to a gtx 1060/70.
  19. am going to mention you changed out the case, with that, its personal preference on what case op wants to go with, choose the one you like the most edit: nobody needs any of this, op (I assume) and anyone else is building this level of pc is purely due to personal preference
  20. I would also encourage you to take a look at some 1440p 144hz ips monitors, a lot of new ips panels have very good response times and significantly better colors. eg: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XvfmP6/asus-monitor-pg279q
  21. A better answer would have been to ask if you are currently happy with your system or not? with a 4790k oc, there is little performance if any to be gained on current gen amd cpu's. But that doesn't mean that your answer was wrong, ultimately it is his choice to see what he needs and wants, not for you to decide. If he got pissed, that's his problem not yours. Its not like you said anything wrong or disrespectful.
  22. they do indeed, found it a bit strange the first time
  23. if you can't use ethernet, you might be able to use usb tethering to use your phone's date to download drivers (that shouldn't take up too much data and make sure your internet connection in the settings is set to metered.)
