Thank you, that would be helpful. It's a Zowie BenQ XL2540 (it's a few years old), according to this it has DP 1.2. For what it's worth, I'm currently using it on 240hz 1080p just fine plugged into a 2019 Macbook Pro

So, long story short: I have a 240Hz monitor, and I'm planning on getting a Ryzen 5 7600 for my build. At the moment, I won't use the PC for gaming, just normal browsing and programming. So, my plan is to use the 7600's iGPU until I get a dedicated GPU in the future when I can. However, I'm worried that since the iGPU in that cpu is so weak (even though it's fine for browsing, etc), it will be capped at 60hz. I've gotten so used to 144-240hz (even in desktop use) that it's a deal breaker if I'm forced to use 60hz. If it can display at least 144hz it's fine though. I can't find any information on this online. Does anyone know? I do know that the Intel UHD 730 does support 240hz at 1080p, but that's a far superior iGPU than the one in the R5 7600.

This is an ASUS B660 TUF D4 wifi plus board. I've had it stored for a while as I wasn't able to buy a CPU. I took it out today and see that it may have two bent pins.. but I don't have a CPU to test if it works I'm pretty sure they are bent and I'm screwed, but oh well. Just want to confirm (I'm referring to the ones on the bottom right hand side of the pic btw)

So I just built a new PC with an i7-12700F. I bought a CM Hyper 212 Black Edition RGB, but I actually forgot to check if it came with an LGA1700 mounting bracket, which it didn't. So I built the PC with the stock cooler until I can return the Hyper212 and get a new cooler. However, to my surprise, the stock cooler is working wonderfully, how is this possible? I was expecting to barely be able to play games, but it doesn't even go past 60ºC while gaming. Like I'm even considering not buying an aftermarket cooler at this point. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Case is Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh RGB by the way.

I just built a new PC, with the following specs: ASUS TUF GAMING B660 PLUS D4 WIFI i7-12700F Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600MHz CL18 Crucial P5 Plus 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD MSI Radeon RX 6650 XT Mech 2x OC Corsair RM650x 650w 80 Plus Gold Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh RGB Zowie BenQ XL2540 Monitor Everything works fine, but my games keep crashing, doesn't matter which game. Even playing CS:GO, I can only go for about 15-20 minutes before my games either freezes without an error, or I get an "AMD software detected that a driver timeout has occurred". When playing RDR2 for example, I can't even go 1 minute past the opening scene that my game just closes without any reason whatsoever. UPDATE: now I got a blue screen - "SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION"... My temperatures are fine, CPU and GPU don't even go past 60ºC. I'm using latest AMD Adrenalin drivers for the GPU. I've already tried reinstalling Windows again (even though it's a fresh install) - Windows 10 64Bit. Also tried changing the PSU cable for the GPU, using two different cables, etc, all the same. Also ran Furmark for about 30minutes and it didn't crash, also GPU never went past 65ºC. Is my GPU defective or what? Any suggestions guys? thank you.

My ISP just upgraded my ADSL connection to Fiber. I had an ADSL Modem/Router combo, which has a more powerful Wi-Fi range than the new Fiber modem my ISP provided. So, my question is if I can use my ADSL Router as just a router, with the fiber modem? If so, how should I connect it?. Fiber cable to Fiber modem, then RJ45 from an Ethernet port on fiber modem to ethernet port in router, set the fiber modem to Bridge mode, and then use another ethernet port on the routet to connect to PC? is this correct?

Hey guys. I have an i7 8700k (stock, no overclock) with a Thermaltake Water 3.0 240 AIO cooler, but I think I'm getting too high temps, it idles at 45ºc approximately, and using prime95 max heat stress test it went up to 95ºc after 5 to 7 minutes. I just changed the thermal paste for Arctic MX-4 since it hadn't been changed since it was built 3 years ago and the old one was quite dried up, but I still get those temps. There's also no dust. My room is quite hot though, I don't know the exact ambient temperature but it is 32ºc outside and I don't have AC. My case is a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv, with 2 120 fans on the side. There's one thing worth mentioning, the AIO is missing a little plastic ring that goes below the block that holds the metal plate, you can see the part I'm talking about in this video (minute 8:52): To be honest, I don't think that should make a difference though because it still fits tightly without it and it doesn't affect the way the block makes contact with the CPU. Could this be the reason though?

My PC has been randomly rebooting for the past week,, and after it reboots I get a message saying it detected a power surge (ASUS Power Surge protection feature). It doesn't happen very often, maybe once or twice a day. The thing is, I can't reproduce the cause of the reboot, sometimes it happens when I'm playing a game, or sometimes even when I'm just using Chrome. Something that may be weird is that last time it happened, my screen went black but I still had sound for like 2 seconds, then it fully rebooted. Temps are also fine, my CPU doesn't go past 65ºc while on full load, and my GPU doesn't go past 80ºc on full load as well. I also tried running stress tests to see if it happened, but nothing. I used FurMark and Prime95. PC Specs: ASUS H81M-A i5 4590 Hyper 212 EVO 8GB DDR3 1866MHz HyperX RAM. MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 (no overclock, latest drivers) SeaSonic S12ii 520w PSU (3.5 years old). Windows 10 64bit (version 1809) Any guesses what could be happening?

I have an ADSL connection, and recently I bought a new modem router (TP-Link Archer VR400), and I'm experiencing a really weird problem, I use my main PC through Ethernet, and if the Wireless network is enabled, at random times (several hours apart with no pattern) I will get an absurd amount of ping, , varying from 2000 to around 3500, this sometimes lasts for a couple minutes or a couple hours, but if I disable Wireless in the router, the ping goes away. I thought maybe some device connected to the Wi-Fi started downloading an update, or something, but I don't think that's the reason because if I purposely start downloading or uploading at max speed through Wi-Fi, I will only get spikes of about 400-600 ping, not the absurd 1500-3500. And also, I tried to isolate the device causing it, by disabling Wi-Fi one by one in each of them when the issue started happening, but it persisted with every one of them. Sadly I can't test another router since the one I had died, and the new one is the only one I have right now. I haven't changed any setting in the router apart from setting up the Wi-Fi password and the ADSL settings. Anyone have a clue?

I have an ADSL connection (third world countries suck), and I need to buy a new modem-router because the one I've been using decided to die. I don't know much about modems/routers so I was wondering if you could break down the basics as to why is the first one better than the second one and if it's worth paying double the price. I do need Wi-Fi but I live in an apartment so there's not that much of a distance to cover, only a few walls. Apart from that, I'll be using it on my main PC connected through Ethernet. Thanks!

No filter that I'm aware of. Everything is factory default on the router. That's why it's very weird

So I'm having a really weird problem. Twitter fails to load (both the app or in browser) when any device is connected to my router's Wi-Fi (Router is Linksys E900). There's a few other specific websites that also don't work on the wi-fi. Everything loads and works fine when connected through Ethernet in my desktop PC. I've already tried many things like of course factory resetting the router both through the control panel and through the physical button, tried changing the DNS both through the router and in my phone when connecting to the wifi but the problem remains. It's also weird because it worked fine in the past. Tried a friend's router and it works fine on it, so it's definitely mine that's the problem. Also tried several phones, all have the same problem with the connection. Anyone have a clue?

I don't get your point. What does it matter if it uses a single thread? it's the same for everyone, so the scores are comparable, and what do you mean by customizing? I'm running the extreme preset on both benchmarks, it just says custom on Heaven because I changed the res from 1600x900 from the Extreme preset to 1920x1080, because that's what everyone uses.

I have an MSI Gaming X GTX 1070, which I could overclock just up to +110 on the clock and +460 on the memory, so it runs at 2050(clock) and 4464 (memory). Temps don't go past 65ºc for the GPU and 55ºc for the CPU. The OC is quite stable, but I don't know why I'm getting such low score on Valley, when everyone's OCed 1070 gets about 4200 or more. Heaven 4.0 seems to be fine (mostly) though: The rest of my PC: i5 4590 (3.3-3.7GHZ) - 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM - SeaSonic S12ii 520w PSU. What could be the cause?

Ok so I just reinstalled Windows, set everything up and I ran Heaven Benchmark. Temps seems okay, didn't get past 60ºc with fan at 60%, but it does whine now.. which it didn't before. I'm really mad now

So I was trying to download a program, and being so fucking stupid I downloaded one that contained a bitcoin mining virus. It installed dozens of other malware and virus.. so when I was trying to remove all of them I noticed my graphics card was making coil whine (which it had never done before). I quickly check and it was so fucking hot that even the case window was hot to the touch. I turned off my pc really quick and booted into safe mode, which I'm using to put my Windows ISO in a USB Drive to format (currently on another pc) I'm worried it may have damaged my graphis card (GTX 1070). It had never made coil whine before, and it was so hot it may have been above 100-110ºc. It was probably 5-10 minutes though, before I turned it off. Could this have damaged it? I can't check anything right now because I'm formatting

I got a good deal from someone who wanted to buy my used H81 Motherboard + i5 4590 + 8GB DDR3 1866mhz so I figured I'd do it and upgrade to last gen. I have two options I can afford right now, and I don't know what to choose. These are: - ASUS H170M-PLUS (updated BIOS) or Gigabyte GA-B250M-DS3H, or MSI B250M PRO-VDH. - i7 7700 (non K) - 8GB 2400MHz Corsair RAM. or - ASUS H170M-PLUS (updated BIOS) or Gigabyte GA-B250M-DS3H, or MSI B250M PRO-VDH. - i5 7600k (little price difference with 7600nonK) - 16gb 2400Mhz Corsair RAM. The rest of my PC: CM Hyper 212 EVO, MSI Gaming X GTX 1070, WD Blue 1TB HDD, SeaSonic S12ii 520w PSU As you can see I can't get Ryzen because the 212EVO doesn't have the bracket for it, and I bought it just 3 weeks ago so I don't want to waste it. I live in South America so no store sells the bracket here yet :/

Hello! I currently have an i5-4590 and 8GBs of DDR3 1866mhz RAM (but running at 1600 because of low end motherboard). I recently upgraded my graphics card to an MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 and it was a gigantic improvement from my previous low-end GPU, but my mind is not at ease knowing that maybe my 1070 is being bottlenecked by either the 4590 or the slow DDR3 RAM. I'm thinking on upgrading to a newer i5, but my budget is quite tight since the 1070 almost broke my bank, so I would have to sell my current MB+CPU+RAM. I would be able to get an i5 7600k, ASUS H710M PLUS MB, and 8GB 2666mhz Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM. Before you say it, I know it is pointless to get a "k" i5 with a motherboard like that, but the difference between the 7600 and the 7600k is really small, so I see no point in the locked one. To make this upgrade, like I said, I would have to sell my current mb+cpu+ram and put something like $170 usd (converted from my currency) to buy the new parts. Would this be worth the money? Or does it make too small of a difference? BTW, I play in a 1080p 144hz monitor. Thanks in advance!

Hello! After many years of only playing CS:GO and other low demanding games, I've decided to finally upgrade my shitty graphics card so I can enjoy some of the new games, which I haven't done in a while. I currently have an HD7770 which I bought sometime around 2012, and haven't changed it since. As you can see, anything would be a huge upgrade for me. Having the budget to buy it, I thought about getting a GTX 1070 after reading some reviews and checking out some benchmarks and seeing that it can max out almost any game at 1080p, but I also saw some people saying that it's a little overkill for that resolution, and it's wiser to get something like a 1060 or RX480. I really don't know what to think, because in one hand, if I buy the 1070, I won't have to upgrade my graphics card in a long time, so that would be a plus, but on the other side, if I go for a cheaper one, I can maybe upgrade some other parts of my PC and have a more balanced system. I would like to get some opinions on what would be the best upgrade to my PC right now. The rest of my (kind of shitty as of right now) system.
