Hey everyone! I searched for my cpu in this category and couldn't find anyone else who has my issue. Hopefully someone out there can help! TLDR: iGPU isn't being recognized by Intel driver software (Error 8) I have a laptop (HP Omen 15, i7-8750H and 2070 Max-Q) and was trying to increase my slowly deteriorating in game performance (I mostly play MW2 22, Destiny 2 and Forza 5), when I discovered that my CPU supposedly has integrated graphics. I had recently factory reset my PC for a fresh start and began using Throttlestop and MSI Afterburner to squeeze more frames out of my games. My issue is this: according to Intel's own website (as found here) I should be able to install the driver for my iGPU to be utilized. If I'm not mistaken, unless specifically instructed otherwise, iGPUs assist discrete graphics in games. I run into an issue however, where the download provided by Intel (here) results in a code "Error 8". I've done some researching but the only thing that has come up was the recommendation to remove the discrete graphics and use DDU to uninstall the Nvidia drivers...makes no sense to me as I'm on a laptop. There is also the issue of the CPU hitting thermal limits after reapplying thermal paste, but that problem is secondary. Steps I have tried: Deleting the driver, restarting, and trying again. Enabling Microsoft Basic Display Adapter through Device Manager, under "Add Legacy Device" Attached are screenshots of information I think to be useful. TLDR: I want/need a new gaming rig, gifted my old one to brother. Have the peripherals, but no components yet. Plan to stream 1080p60fps, price at $1200 USD. I play Escape From Tarkov and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint mostly. The Full Version: I sold my old gaming rig (Ryzen 1700, GTX 1060, 16GB DDR4) to my brother and went on a quest to find a suitable cloud based service to replace my physical box. That was six months ago and I regret getting rid of my pc. Rather than buying it back, I figured I could make a new one, with more recent and better components tailored to what I'm trying to do. Stream, game at 1080p 60fps with details cranked, and maybe edit my Nvidia Highlights in Premeire (if Nvidia ends up being my GPU lol). So, with a slightly flexible budget of $1200 USD (no OS, monitor, or peripherals needed) to get the entire PC, what would get me the best performance for my money? Prefer AMD but not married to the idea

Hey guys, so I posted a very similar post to this one a few days ago, but the circumstances have changed. So, here is where I stand. I have a maximum budget of $800 firm to buy the full tower. I want to try the new Ryzen platform but am not partial to either team. What's the best I can get for 800? I do have free shipping for most sites so s$h is no problem. Thanks!
