  1. Just to update this thread in case it helps anyone. I picked up the Acer Predator XB321hk - 32 inch 4k IPS with gsync. It's incredible. 4k looks amazing and is easily noticeable even with the jump in screen size. I find it easier with a slight scale increase but apps that don't scale are still readable. Was well worth the purchase!!
  2. Valid point mate!! Hadn't thought of that. I'm around 60-70cm from eyes to monitor so, would make 4k Retina...
  3. Monitor I've been looking at is this one: https://www.novatech.co.uk/products/lg-27ud88-27-inch-wled-monitor/27ud88.html Spec wise, seems to be on a very similar plane to what I've got just - 4K. I've zero interest in spending a fortune for a total professional display. - MarcAndrew - Totally understand where you're coming from. It's just price wise that's throwing me off. I could easily spend £1300 on a monitor and a 1080ti and if it's not really night and day - I'd be gutted.
  4. Hey Guys, Long time since I last posted but you were all brilliant so I'd like to pick your brains again if you don't mind. I currently have a Dell U2715H - it's a 27 inch 1440p panel - it's bloody lovely. No real complaints however, I'd love to go to 4K. I'm a photographer - It's my job. So it kinda makes sense right? Now, I've not been fortunate enough to actually check out a 27 inch 4K panel. Is 4K worth it at this size? Will I actually see an improvement that warrants both the expense of a new monitor alongside the expensive of a 1080ti etc? I'm crazy keen and also crazy reluctant. Please help me make a decision guys! Much appreciated.
  5. The form of mounting plate and the hole alignment etc. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flat_Display_Mounting_Interface
  6. Yeah, once I claim back the VAT and sell my 980tis I think I'd be looking around £60 or so to get a 1080ti.
  7. Currently, I'm running 980tis in SLI! There's loads of titles i should be fine with. I've opened another thread to discuss if I'm better off selling my 980tis and buying a 1080ti to help with 4K and poor SLI optimisation.
  8. I mostly use my PC for photo editing, I'm lucky enough to be a full time photographer so it would be super cool to bump up to 4K. I'm also a massive gamer and use the same PC for hours of trekking around Novigrad! Now, I know we're not quite there with 4K gaming so, I'm kinda thinking, if I come across a game that I can't hit near enough 60fps with, that I could drop the res down to 1080p to ease up the burden and restore some frame rate! Anyone seen how 1080p looks on a 27 inch 4K display yet?! Is it OK? Rubbish? Would I just crave 4K60 and think anything less was for peasants?! Thanks!!
  9. I had to translate the page but I believe it mentioned about the TV having a VESA mount so should be fine!!
  10. Would really love some opinions on this as I'm just kinda head scratching. Is a 1080ti an upgrade over 980ti in SLI? I'm currently running Gigabyte G1 980tis in SLI. For the most part, I love the setup but there are several games that just run like ass. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided wouldn't even launch unless I disabled SLI. Watch Dogs 2 runs like a bag of ..... and there are several titles where SLI is either detrimental to the performance or just not really doing anything. I'm able to pick up a 1080ti and claim the VAT back so, for around £100 or so I think I could sell my 980tis and pick up a 1080ti. I'm also tempted to go 4K which I think would again, suggest the 1080ti as worth while... Thoughts? Thanks!
