  1. Thank you, do you know if something like logmein hamachi would work as I can just host that on a pc at work and that may work I just worry about about the security of the connection. I assume that however this is done the security aspect will depend on the software for the vpn used.
  2. Hi guys, I have a NAS at work that has files and documents on that I would like to access at home so I can work from home when needed. I am a massive networking/NAS newbie and I've read a few articles on opening ports and using VPNs to connect to it from home. I cannot use port forwarding as my ISP doesn't allow me to open any ports so it looks like I have to use a vpn. Is this the right way to do this / are there any good tutorials on how to do this? Thank you so much!
  3. I got it working, only had to cut out some plastic in the 1x slot and put the card it there, must be a broken pin or something in the 16x that the card dislikes. Thank you for the help
  4. I have enabled "onboard Lan boot rom" as that is the only option similar. Weirdly in the boot via LAN options the nic does not show up. I know the pcie slot works as it used to have a GPU in it. I will install windows and see if it's detected in that.
  5. No, there appears to be no sign of pfsense even detecting a card is there. Apart from the sights on boot there's nothing to indicate it's being recognised and the old bios won't show all the devices connected. I'm accessing it via using the onboard port as a wan and thin plugging that into my PC.
  6. I don't know anything about networking, using pfsense because ISP router is crap. I installed a D33682 nic which I know works and Pf sense will not recognize if I plug anything into it, no lights or anything (I do get lights during boot so I know it has power). Do i need to put a driver on it and if so how? I've assess to the web GUI but i know very very little about how FreeBSD works and very little about networking in general. Using a 775 pentium 4 and 1.5gb ram with a MS-7254 board if that helps. Any help would be great! Thank you so much have a lovely day :)
  7. Hello, here's the run down, I have 2 HD7950s and out of the blue one stopped working. No display out on the card not even for bios. but the fan would spin. After DDU I could see that, using the other GPU as display out, the faulty one was detected in gpuz. When drivers are installed I get to the windows logo then a black screen using the working GPU as primary. When installing drivers I get a black screen and need to remove the faulty card to get into windows and DDU. Ive tried flashing Vbios to no avail. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
  8. It's a good idea to check thermals, if the card was dusty and the previous owner didn't take care of it, it could be thermal throttling during games that last longer... Also check the GPU activity during games as it may be an issue of bottlenecking (I highly doubt this thought).
  9. Hey, I,m having some serious issues with my HD7950 direct cu11 form ASUS. one of my issues is that i do not know how to go about trouble shooting these issues. SOme of these are, the screen will turn black and only display the cursor, which will not move, on starting windows. When full screening chrome the cursor will freeze as the amd drivers crash and the the mouse can still be moved but the cursor will not so i have to guess where about it is in order to turn off my PC. When playing CS:GO the amd drivers will crash and then i will not be able to tab back into the came as i can hear game audio and the game will respond to clicks, but I cannot see any hud or map ect. My system specs are as follows to help diagnoses the issue: C5650 overclocked CPU, Windows 10 64 bit, Radeon Software Version 19.6.1, 700w PSU (thermal take), 24gb ddr3 ram and a gigabyte usb3 mother board (X58). My monitors are; a Samsung C24FG70 of display port (at 144hz) and A samsung SMB2230H off HDMI as I think these maybe important as setting the monitors to the same refresh rate seems to make the system more stable? Things I have done so far is to run sfc /scannow reinstall and update windows, reinstall graphics drivers and verify game files. However the card seems stable as it can run furmark and 3d mark no problem. And help would be greatly appreciated and please ask if I missed any vital information. :)
