  1. So I've decided to go entirely air-cooled on my latest build, as I don't mind the noise and fear the failure of liquid cooling. The case I've chosen is the Phanteks Evolv ATX, and I'm wondering what the best fan setup would be. The available space is 3 120mm/2 140mm on the front, 3 120mm/2 140mm on the top, and 1 120mm/1 140mm on the rear, and comes with 3 140mm fans pre-installed, 2 in the front and 1 in the rear. I was going to use 3 more 120mm fans on the top, but the thing is that I don't know if I should instead use them on the front, and I'm not sure which fans should be intake and which should be exhaust. Thanks in advance.
  2. Actually it is 1440p. Not entirely sure the exact model cause the box is away in a deep closet and it's kind of hard to see, but I just checked in the monitor's menu under the information tab.
  3. I know some of it's outdated, haven't touched some of it since about 2012: CPU: Intel i7 3770 3.4GHz GPU: Radeon R9 390X Memory: 16GB (2 x 8GB) G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 2400 MoBo: ASUS Sabretooth Z77 Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower 1500W 80 Plus Gold (I know it's a bit overkill, deal with it) Storage: Seagate 2TB Internal Hard Disk Monitor: BENQ XL eSports Ultimate
  4. Sorry to interrupt but can you guys take this argument somewhere else? I'm expecting replies with helpful advice and just keep getting you guys.
  5. Well here's the specs I'm going to have after the upgrade: CPU: Ryzen 7 1800x GPU: (tbd) Memory: 32GB (4 x 8GB) Flare X Series DDR4 3200 MoBo: ASUS Prime X370-Pro Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower 1500W 80 Plus Gold (I know it's a bit overkill, deal with it) Storage: Seagate 2TB Internal Hard Disk Not sure if this is a full list tbh, just now getting back into the system building scene and I feel like I'm missing something. Please notify me if I am.
  6. As the title suggests, I currently own an R9 390X and I'm wondering if it's worth it to upgrade to a GTX 1080 Ti. Also, does anyone know if the GTX 1080 Ti is currently the best high-end graphics card? If not, then what it? I'm doing a big upgrade soon and I wanna get the best of the best. Thanks!
  7. Nice! I'm gonna install a MasterAir Maker 8 in there so I had to know. Just have to wait for the AM4 upgrade kit to be released for it so I can use it with a Ryzen 7.
  8. I think I'm going to go with this one: http://amzn.to/2oBeZoa One quick question though, would you happen to know the clearance for a CPU cooler inside it?
  9. I know it's a bit old-school, I've never gotten a new case lol. I would like to get a new one though, and I do like Cooler Master's cases. Any in particular that you would recommend?
  10. Alright, well if you believe I should stick with a mid-tower, I'll take your word for it. So should I stick with what I currently have (Antec Nine Hundred w/ USB 3.0) or should I upgrade to a different one?
  11. Once at the beginning and once at the end of every summer.
  12. So I'm in the process of picking out a few new parts to install into my PC, and I wanted to upgrade my case from half to full tower. I won't be using any liquid cooling, because I don't like even the slight risks of damage to my system, plus I don't mind the noise of a heavily air-cooled system. I need recommendations for what case I should buy if I want a case that's: Sturdy, because I'll be shipping it to and from college Has good airflow and dust prevention Looks nice and has a window on the side (I don't care if it's plastic or tempered glass, just something that won't scratch easily) Thanks in advance to anyone who gives a good recommendation!
