  1. I wish but I don't know many people that have a windows PC (I know small world but that's that)
  2. Sounds good but I have no access to a windows computer as that is why I am building this PC
  3. It was gift from an uncle who is a very hardcore PC enthusiast> I assume he just downloaded the ISO files and all that
  4. I do no have a CD copy of windows, just this USB with all the needed download files. And yes I do
  5. Im trying to boot windows 10 off this USB stick to then load it onto the 500 GB HDD. I have tried getting rid of fast boot and stuff like that that could skip some POST setup stuff and still nothing works
  6. No, it's just a USB 2.0 port. I have a PC with 4 GB of DDR3 ram, with a core 2 duo (NOTE: I tried it on my Core i5-3470 PC and didn't work there either) and 500 GB of HDD storage.
  7. So I am trying to Boot from a USB port with a USB Flash Drive that has a copy of windows ten. I know how to download the software to the HDD I have, but my problem is that whenever I boot from the USB flash drive it will freeze right there (from the boot menu) and I can't do anything but shut down the PC and try again. Yet to no avail. Any help???
  8. I guess I could, but how would I even run another OS? 1. So my options are, get a new motherboard and hope its windows isn't the problem. 2. My Favorite: Get a PCIe Internal USB hub 3. or run a different OS and hope the USB ports show on that as working...
  9. Well, Windows 7 actually had some system problem which led to the restore process. Would the new motherboard be affected by this?
  10. If I use a PCIe internal USB hub, will that have slower speeds or any downgrade from the original ports?
  11. Nope, this motherboard has no PS2 ports, I have tried 4 different keyboards and all USB ports.
  12. So I have a PC with a Dell OptiPlex 3010 motherboard and an HDD with Windows 7 and long story short I need to replace the motherboard (with the another OptiPlex 3010 motherboard, same model) due to the USB ports not recognizing keyboards or mice. Also, I have tried to fix it with every possible way, though I have determined that the motherboard just needs to be replaced. Maybe though it was a setting on the WindowsOS on the HDD. SO my question is if I get a new motherboard and boot the same HDD with the Windows 7 I used, will it change a setting or mess up the USB ports again? Thus creating the same problem and putting me back where I started. PLEASE HELP MY PC'S SPECS: 500 GB Seagate HDD (with Windows 7 Pro, which I have been using, until this USB problem) Intel Core i5-3470 4 GB DDR3 RAM No graphics card 280 Watt Dell power supply Dell Optiplex 3010 Motherboard (USB ports seem to have power, but NO data connection) (Also if someone has a fix to why my motherboard USB ports don't work with keyboards or mice, an answer to that would be appreciated as well. I believe the problem is either the USB ports are just dead or the WindowsOS just has a setting or something on...) P.S. When I boot up my current PC setup, I am brought to the BIOS where it tells me windows had a problem starting up and its starts the windows repair process. When it does that it loads then says "Do you want to restore my system using system restore?" Then gives me the option to click restore or cancel. THOUGH I CANT BECAUSE MY COMPUTER DOESNT WORK WITH THE KEYBOARD OR MOUSE.
  13. So I am building a PC and I was able to get a dell Optiplex 3010 Motherboard and I hooked up all the components and power in the case and everything. When I turned it on the USB ports wouldn't recognize my mouse or keyboard. I was stuck in the BIOS and it says to "press any key to boot", the only problem I CAN'T. I tried resetting the BIOS via the CMOS jumper, the CMOS battery replacement, I have tried getting rid of all static power, and tried lots of different keyboards unlock commands. PLEASE HELP, I don't know if I have covered everything and even if I did I found another motherboard I could buy. (though I don't want to spend the money if there is a fix and this is my last resort...) Also here are my PC components: Dell OptiPlex 3010 MotherBoard Dell Stock Heatsink Intel Core i5 3400k WesternBlue 500GB HDD Power Brick (240 Volts) 4GB of DDR3 RAM
  14. Thanks so much you all, I guess I didn't realize how out of date the Pentium 4 was. Maybe just a core i3 some day that's overclocked, but until then
