hey guys! I'm new to gaming and so my gaming rig is just over a year old. I've recently bought an msi gtx 1060 3gb card and is facing a serious heating problem.

playing games like battlefield one and watch dogs 2 on ultra, heats up the gpu up to 75 degrees and an average over 70 degrees. my casing is the thermaltake versa h25.

    Do you have any casefans?

Does it raise to 75c immediately or gradually

about 5 mins into the game.

Make sure the fan is actually spinning on your graphics card

they are. but the speed never goes over 50%. at least that's what msi afterburner says. but the gpu usage never goes over 70 %.

Sounds like either the card itself or the temp sensors are faulty.

no. I found the problem. the fans don't spin at full capacity even under load. but when I set it to  a 100% the results were good.

They shouldn't have to spin at 100% just to keep it cool, that'll wear your fans down. It doesn't mean I'm wrong but I'm glad you found your solution.

it actually didn't solve the problem. results are remaining as they were.

Does the heatsink actually feel hot? are the fans actually spinning?

Add some fans on the top of your case to exhaust, and some fans infront to intake.

i'm gonna add a front intake.

I added two front intakes and it worked. the highest temp was 70
