I appreciate the joke btw because that's exactly what I do sometimes when I help people on this website... moving on..
No it doesn't run perfectly fine. I can get it to start at what feels like normal RPM (there's no gauge on this truck for RPM) but there's a whole lot of this

*crank crank crank brr brh BRHHHH brh BRHH crank brr crank... etc.*
                                                    ^^^^
it's right here where I'm like "ooh yay it's started!" all while holding the key in the run position. and as soon as i let go of key, it turns off

That's some good onamonapia if you ask me btw. My current theory is the engine isn't getting enough fuel. Let me know your thoughts.

Well, from the sounds of it the motor overload is tripping for the compressor. This could be caused by a high system pressure putting a large load on the compressor (System pressures are higher in hot weather, see it a lot with the reefer units I work on), a bad capacitor as was suggested before or a failing motor. The first thing I would check is if the condensor on the outdoor unit is plugged up (the radiator looking thing). If the fins on it are it restricts the airflow through it and it cannot dissipate all the heat that it needs to. This causes higher system pressures and the compressor has to work harder to circulate the refrigerant. It is also possible that the overload itself is what is failing and there may not be anything wrong with the a/c system itself per-se. Unfortunately though other than making sure that the condensor is clean any other diagnostics would need to be done by someone certified to do so, or at least familiar with a/c systems and electrical.

Ironically, Linus tech Tips made a short series about buying a prebuilt PC and so if you check those videos out, they give you a lot of useful information to consider. (In general though, more money will result in better computer. So if you could make the budget a little bigger, you'll wage much better.)

PSU wattage is overkill, you'd be fine with 550w but the 650w is much cheaper so go with it.
Meshify C has slightly better airflow I think but if you like the Look of the Lancool that's your preference.

Overall, its a great build! Well done on the good selections!

Might be able to save a little by using a lower wattage power supply, obvious still go for a reputable brand and ensure its high quality, but 650w is more than you would realistically need for this config.
Others may be able to correct me though

The 8gb memory will allow it to push 4k video.  The amount of memory isn’t the problem.  A 580 has 8gb of memory.

There is more than gddr5 vs 6 between a 1070 and a 2070S.  A 2070 can be very roughly thought of as a 3.5k card where each k is a bump up in either monitor size or monitor speed.

    so 1440p@144hz ~4k.  You’ve got a 1070 which is a whisker slower.

The thing is esports stuff often isn’t run at max settings which reduces things.   So will it do 1440p@144hz? Depends.  It’s close enough to the top of its ability to make it interesting.  Good chance you won’t need to replace it though if you dont insist on ultra settings.

Get a pair of vice grips from your garage, size it up with the diameter of the screw and twist as if it were pliers. (Vice grips are OP)

Option two would be shove some tinfoil (a couple layers at least) in the hole and find a hexbit that fits just a size too big.

Option three would be drilling it out, which would be destruction for the glass and case (aka not a good idea).

thebrain36 reacted to kenblu24 in Linus still says those cheap graphics cards are useless.
Linus has said time and time again that those craptastic bottom-of-the-barrel new GPU cards that they have at Best Buy or Newegg for like $45 are useless and nobody should buy them. But I think there is actually one good usage case for these things:

Linus argues that cheap GPUs give awful performance per dollar, but what if I don't care about performance? For small businesses with work computers, if a GPU from a prebuilt dies, and the business doesn't have a service contract, just buy the cheapest new GPU you can find. It'll have a warranty, and can easily be returned. Or, if said business wants to add an extra monitor to a computer with only integrated graphics, they can do so by adding a cheap, new GPU. Used GPUs are great for gamers on a budget, but most non-creative small businesses don't need graphics horsepower. Same for ya nan on Facebook.

Strange that Linears doesn't consider this rather common scenario, considering he seems to be very in-tune with non-techy businesses just as he is with the gaming and performance PC communities. It's the perfect use case for these cheap cards: People who give zero cares about performance, and don't want to deal with buying used.

Devil's Avocados: Linux is probably worried about non-tech-savvy gamers who want performance but don't know where to look for it, and just waltz into Best Buy for an upgrade and end up buying these cheap GPUs.
